Key Requirements:

The Bakery Lead Sales Clerk is first and foremost responsible for guest relations and satisfaction by building a reputation for Ultimate Service. He/She will focus on effective merchandising and educating guests to differentiate their store experience. In conjunction with the Bakery/Store Management, he/she is responsible for leading the efficient, effective, safe, legal and profitable operations. He/She assists in the coordination of human relations for the bakery and ensures execution of all company and department policies and procedures on a timely basis. 

  • When a guest enters my area or department, my first and most important responsibility becomes to acknowledge, greet, and engage that guest
  • Dominate service by developing sales clerks to educate guests on products and services
  • Responsible for maintaining positive atmosphere, spirit and morale within the department
  • Demonstrate effective leadership skills by managing time and delegation
  • Support and execute against division concepts and programs
  • Assist in the communication of information distribution to sales team
  • Perform duties following Bakery Food Safety Procedures and Sanitation Schedule
  • Contribute in the hiring, training and performance management of sales team members
  • Responsible for training sales clerks to perform duties efficiently and correctly
  • Jointly draft sales team member schedules against business needs
  • Assign tasks based on daily needs and priority
  • Ensure recipes, systems and policies are followed. Maintain all sales reference materials
  • Responsible for safe guarding, controlling and monitoring all bakery department assets
  • Participate in the meetings with the bakery management team to effectively plan production and promotion goals
  • Ensure special orders are written and completed accurately
  • Monitor sales floor and cross-merchandising displays every hour to ensure they meet brand expectations
  • Draft sales purchase orders and participate in the inventory process
  • Assist in break-out and dishwashing as needed
  • Perform other duties assigned by management

Key Responsibilities:

  • Minimum of one year experience in retail sales management or equivalent 
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to lead and work as part of a team
  • Ability to self motivate, problem-solve and work with minimal supervision
  • Be able to perform all physical aspects of the position, such as bending, standing, and walking
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. and push and pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to work within a freezer for up to 15 minutes
  • Attend meetings and training sessions when called upon
  • Must possess technical skills to perform basic math and computer tasks (Word, Excel, Email)
  • Must maintain Certified Food Safety certification
  • Must be able to read and communicate in English. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
  • Must be flexible to work various hours/shifts, including weekends and holidays
