Roll Thread Essential Responsibilities
- Select and change roll thread dies, work rests and associated machine settings to perform the roll thread operation.
- Set thread size and visual characteristics to meet print specifications. Select and set appropriate gauges to print specifications.
- Run 1st piece part, make necessary adjustments to attain quality characteristics per print specifications and complete necessary paperwork to attain a set-up approval.
- Load parts, cycle machine, check parts at designated intervals and make necessary adjustments accordingly to maintain specified dimensions.
- Package and tag parts, complete all required paperwork associated with this process.
- Maintain all machine fluid levels
- Sign out all necessary gauging equipment from Q.A. and set gauges per print specifications
- Evaluate thread dies for possible replacement due to wear.
Roll Thread Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent; post-secondary or trades / technical education and certifications preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and shop math competencies
- Strong ability to follow written and verbal work instructions
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Strong ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, suppliers, and plant leadership
