The Seller Growth and Development (SG&D) team within the SPS organization is responsible for building a strong Business Intelligence and Analytics group. A BIE in this team will be enable business analytics and insights, providing data and data curation capabilities to unlock strategic growth opportunities for SG&D. We are developing and launching innovative products that enable 100K+ Sellers a better understanding of their most important customers.

The SG&D team is looking for an experienced BIE to join our organization who will work on unlocking compelling insights at the behest of sellers to improve their profitability in Amazon. The ideal candidate will be skilled at advanced SQL, data visualization and working knowledge on ML algorithms. This role requires an individual with excellent analytical abilities, as well as outstanding business acumen. The ideal candidate is curious and seeks out data to understand the business use cases and impact on SPS organization. They challenge assumptions and turn conjecture and anecdotes into data-supported facts.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with BIEs, DEs, PMTs, PMs, SDEs and leadership to identify and acquire datasets of interest.
  • Develop relevant and defensible metrics and KPIs that drive and track business strategy.
  • Define and develop data pipelines, ML models, dashboards and visualization for key metrics and KPIs.
  • Develop mechanisms for the team to come up with new ideas for seller recommendations, prototype and launch them.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
  • Bachelor's degree in math/statistics/engineering or other equivalent quantitative discipline
  • Experience with building and maintain basic data artifacts (e.g. ETL, data models, queries)
  • Experience with one or more analytics visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI)
  • Experience gathering business requirements, using industry standard business intelligence tool(s) to extract data, formulate metrics and build reports

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in math/statistics/engineering or other equivalent quantitative discipline
  • Experience with scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R)
  • Knowledge of how to improve code quality and optimizes BI processes (e.g. speed, cost, reliability)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $65,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $165,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
