TTI, Inc. is looking for an Associate Quality Engineer at our distribution center in Northwest Fort Worth, TX.

The Associate Quality Engineer’s primary responsibility encompasses the Quality related functions of the distribution and assembly sectors of our business. Responsibilities include assisting the Total Quality Engineer staff with customer and supplier interactions; assisting with recalls; and customer, supplier, and internal CAR’s. The Associate QE also leads projects to improve internal processes to help prepare personnel for audits.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provides thorough, timely and effective Corrective Action (CA) responses to customers by receiving the requests, initiating the CA in the Quality Data Management System, selecting the most appropriate responder, tracking, and coordinating the response, evaluating the response, and working with the responder if insufficient, and responding to the customer on behalf of TTI.
  • Coordinates or reviews actions to ensure that Containment is rapid and effective, that the Root Cause is correctly determined, and that Corrective Actions are implemented and Verified.
  • Provides expertise in Root Cause Analysis through tools such as 5 Why’s, 3x5 Why’s, fish-boning and affinity analysis to assist responders in developing their skills to determine the most appropriate root cause to address. Provides expertise in Corrective Action tools such as process design, training design, and poka-yoke to assist responders in developing their skills in effective implementation.
  • Reviews backlog of open CA’s and action items and follows up with responders to ensure that CA’s are progressing with urgency and proper consideration given the magnitude of the problem.
  • Processes recall notifications by gathering appropriate sales histories and identifying impacted shipments, preparing customer facing letters and distributing to the sales force.
  • Reviews Open RDR’s, reports on aging and works with Corporate Product to resolve old outstanding items.
  • Works alongside Quality Engineering staff to aid in data collection, problem resolution and customer communications.
  • Coordinates supplier and internal teams to resolve specific customer problems. Facilitates meetings, develops action items and schedules, and professionally follows up to ensure their completion.
  • Develops & Manages Supplier relationships to improve overall supplier performance in Corrective Actions timeliness and thoroughness, reduction in RDR’s and customer rejections, and improved On-Time performance.
  • Proactively identifies and leads medium sized (3-4 month) initiatives to improve processes in other TTI departments using 6 sigma and lean methodologies.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (e.g., business, mathematics, engineering, quality) or at least 2 years’ experience in customer-facing, problem solving positions is preferred. Previous RCCA, LSS/DMAIC experience is strongly preferred.
  • Application of quality standards from organizations such as the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG), ISO and Military Standards. Experience with various industry systems along with the knowledge and application of commonly used acronyms such as RCCA, PSW, PPAP, FMEA, GR&R, APQP, etc. is preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge applying the principles of quality system requirements including Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities through a combination of data driven analysis and applied Quality Engineering knowledge. (SPC, PFMEA, 5 Why, etc.)
  • Ability to devise sampling procedures and process designs with required forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality data.

SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Intermediate knowledge of Word and Access preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of PowerPoint preferred.
  • Knowledge of various industry quality requirements.
  • Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Possess strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and work multiple tasks with limited supervision.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) helpful.
