We’re seeking an Associate Scientist/Scientist in Protein Science to join us in our mission to improve human health and quality of life through the development, distribution, and application of advanced computational methods!

As a member of our Therapeutics Group, you’ll contribute to our rapidly-expanding portfolio of drug discovery programs and collaborations. Our discovery and early clinical development team includes a cross-functional group of scientists and drug developers with experience working on all common target classes and therapeutic areas. You’ll be supported by more than 100 software developers and engineers, as well as a large-scale computational infrastructure to apply our proprietary physics-based drug design and optimization platform. Ten of the programs we’ve worked on have progressed into preclinical development with four currently in clinical trials and one approved by the FDA.

Who will love this job:

  • A curious, motivated, and growth-minded problem-solver with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive learner who’s interested in macromolecular architecture (proteins, antibodies, nucleic acids) and eager to learn the gene-to-structure pipeline
  • A dedicated scientist who can apply molecular biology and cell culture skills to the design and execution of large-scale macromolecular production to enable multiple drug discovery projects

What you’ll do:

  • Carry out molecular biology experiments (i.e., PCR, cloning, plasmid amplification, and working with external vendors)
  • Establish and execute small- and large-scale protein expression in E. coli, insect, and mammalian cells, and maintain eukaryotic cells for all users in the team
  • Follow established protocols and carry out small- and large-scale protein purifications (affinity, ion exchange, and size exclusion chromatography)
  • Quantify proteins, analyze purity, control quality, document work, and archive reagents
  • Miscellaneous work related to protein chemistry

What you should have:

  • Prior experience in molecular biology and protein expression/purification in an academic or industrial setting
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, chemistry, or a related field
