The Operations Specialist will work closely with internal and external stakeholders and perform shipping operations tasks. He / She is expected to provide pro-active approach through coordinating with Marine Team, Captain of the Vessel, Local Agents, Berth Planner, etc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising day-to-day operations of a certain Port / Terminal assigned including but not limited to the daily tasks performed by the Vessel Agent and Documentation Staff - Manage the staff at the terminal office, ensure their tasks are done timely and effectively.
  • Liaise with Terminal to facilitate vessel berth plan and ensure that vessels are accommodated as soon as they have arrived. Ensure all required documents and formalities are prepared in advance for vessel clearance procedures.
  • Monitoring of vessel's latest update thru GSIS / Captain / Marine. Coordinate with Marine and HQ team for updating Vessel and Berth line up. Keeping a close watch on the vessel cargo operations until departure.
  • Engagement and visit with relevant authorities' offices, such as Port Authorities, Immigration, Customs, Quarantine for Ops Discussions. Participate in Performance Discussions with the Terminal as scheduled. 
  • In-charge of all cargo related matters in the terminal, from the gate-in process up to when the container is loaded on the vessel. Ensure all cargo execution tasks are done on time by concerned or relevant parties. Follow proper procedures and submit all required documents to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Providing immediate assistance with internal and external stakeholders as required. Coordination with various stakeholders for ad-hoc situations. 
  • Find ways to improve the cost-effectivity of the operations and to reduce or eliminate facilitation payments by ensuring compliance with applicable local laws and regulations. Come up with projects for simplifying and streamlining internal processes.

We are looking for

  • Fresh graduates are welcomed with Maritime and Shipping studies. 
  • 1-3 years of experience in shipping is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills which are essential for cross-functional collaboration.
  • A passionate, dedicated and result-driven individual.
  • Team Player who can work collaboratively in achieving team results.
  • Problem-solver, who can analytically and creatively solve problems that may arise at any given point of time.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced OPS environment.
