About The Role: 

The Financial Analyst will work directly with Spot’s Manager of Finance & Analysis and members of the Finance & Data Analytics team to support companywide and departmental needs in various areas of financial reporting and business analysis.

The Financial Analyst will have extensive experience in using Microsoft Excel, writing SQL queries & creating detailed reports, as well as a strong understanding of key finance & accounting principles. Employee must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, entrepreneurial, and have an ability to multi-task, as there will likely be multiple ongoing projects at all times.

Responsibilities: 

  • Support the Finance & Sales teams in preparing annual financial projections & budgets.
  • Develop and maintain customized financial and operational reports across multiple business areas for use by department heads and/or executive management, including:
  • Customer Reporting – create and maintain customer-specific monthly reports, scorecards, analyses, and sales presentation data for external stakeholders.
  • Financial Reporting – monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and key financial metrics, identifying trends, variances, and anomalies.
  • Pricing Analysis – work with Sales and Data Science teams to develop and implement pricing strategies using internal tools.
  • Prepare “ad hoc” financial analysis at request of CFO and other senior management, including:
  • Detailed analyses (often using large data sets) to support new business opportunities and other needs of multiple internal constituents.
  • Utilize SQL, Power BI and other tools to create and automate financial & operational reports to drive internal improvements and the overall visibility of information to key managers & leaders.
  • Present findings & provide recommendations to senior management regarding analyses performed.
  • Market Research – stay informed about industry trends, economic developments, and market conditions that may impact the organization’s financial performance and outlook.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting, Economics, MIS/CS, Mathematics or related field.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, VBA, SQL.
  • Experience with PowerBI (or other data visualization tools), Microsoft BC, scripting languages, or databases a plus.
