Freese and Nichols is excited to invite an experienced Transportation Project Manager to join our growing team in North Texas. You’ll have the opportunity to work from either our Fort Worth, Dallas, or Frisco offices. Our multidisciplinary firm is well-positioned to support your success, with an established local transportation team, a robust backlog of work, and a wide network of client relationships.

In this role, your primary focus will be delivering roadway projects for our municipal and county clients. You’ll collaborate closely with our talented team to produce high-quality work, manage and develop staff, and foster strong client relationships. As a key contributor, you’ll play an integral part in shaping the transportation landscape in North Texas.

Responsibilities associated with this role include:

  • Oversee all aspects of the design and delivery of municipal and county transportation engineering projects.
  • Develop project scopes, prepare fee proposals, and participate in contract negotiations with clients and subconsultants.
  • Independently manage engineers and designers, ensuring balanced staffing throughout the lifecycle of each project.
  • Coordinate budgets, schedules, and efforts of subconsultant team members.
  • Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders through regular communication with government officials, community members, and project partners.
  • Proactively monitor project metrics and adjust efforts to meet deadlines and budgets.
  • Coordinate schedules for multiple simultaneous and long-term projects.
  • Serve as the primary client contact, ensuring successful project completion and industry-leading client service.
  • Implement and maintain quality assurance and quality control procedures.
  • Mentor junior transportation engineers, designers, and technicians.
  • Handle project accounting and invoicing monthly.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver Statements of Qualifications and shortlist presentations for project pursuits.
  • Identify new business opportunities and assist in client development to continue to grow the Transportation practice in North Texas.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and encourage innovation within the team and explore new approaches to transportation design.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer registration in Texas or the ability to register within 6 months
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • 6+ years of experience in the delivery of transportation design projects
  • Strong communication, coordination, and strategic thinking skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Microstation OpenRoads Designer
