The role

We are seeking someone with the right level of verification experience and desire to contribute to the creation of a best-in class RISC-V CPU verification technology. The CPU HW team is responsible for the delivery of our CPU IP roadmap and we are committed to set the bar around verification quality and innovation within the RISC-V ecosystem.

The role will give you the opportunity to contribute in the following two areas:

• CPU Product delivery: Be part of a product development team owning parts of the overall product verification strategy. Our roadmap considers a wide range of CPU technology and our verification approach offers the opportunity to learn and verify complex architectural and micro-architectural features.
• CPU Verification Technology: Engage with and contribute to groundbreaking concepts in CPU verification, which push the boundaries of traditional approaches. Our verification ethos encourages continual exploration and experimentation with new ideas to enhance the quality and efficiency of our verification processes.

You will:

• Have the opportunity to develop your CPU technology and related verification skills by working alongside experienced and expert engineers.
• Be responsible for the delivery of all verification activities related to a CPU component or sub-system from early stages of verification planning to sign-off
• Create verification plans, develop and maintain testbench components, track and report verification metrics and closure
• Participate in all stages of design specification definition providing feedback from the verification perspective
• Be responsible for the definition, effort estimation and tracking of your own work
• Be able to influence and contribute to the evolution of our CPU verification technology
• Have the opportunity to lead and mentor other members of the team
• Participate in design and verification reviews and recommend improvements

You'll have:

• Proven track record of developing verification environments for complex RTL designs
• Excellent understanding of constrained-random verification methodology and challenges of verification closure
• Confidence in defining verification requirements, and work out the implementation approach and details of a testbench
• The ability to do root-cause analysis of complex issues and resolve them in a timely manner
• Familiarity with modern Instruction Set Architectures (e.g. RISC-V, Arm, x86) 
• Excellent knowledge of SystemVerilog and UVM or writing software for verification in Python
• Excellent coding, logical problem-solving and reasoning skills 
• Be able to plan, estimate and track your own work
• Clear communication skills and ability to work in a team environment 

You might also have:

• Domain-specific knowledge of RISC-V Instruction Set Architecture 
• Experience with Jenkins/Jenkinsfiles/Groovy and Continuous Integration 
• Experience with Git and good source code management practices 
• Experience in engagement with constructive feedback via code review
