What you’ll do

We’re looking for a Principal Safety & Risk Engineer to join our Perth team

The role responsibilities include:

  • Safety studies for various project phases from conceptual to brownfields modifications including Fire Safety Studies, Escape and Muster Studies, Equipment Survivability Studies, QRAs, safety case and SCE impact assessment to support the demonstration of ALARP and recommend actions
  • Deliver safety & risk engineering services that meet applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
  • Be able to facilitate workshops including HAZOPs, HAZIDs and LOPA.
  • Develop client relationships.
  • Coaching and mentoring of more junior team members.
  • Accountable for the delivery of margin, pull through opportunities and growth/retention of staff within their immediate span of control.
  • Prepare proposals, estimates, budgets and schedules.
  • Provide assistance during procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
  • Prepare technical reports and assist in the presentation of technical issues to clients.

What you’ll have

  • Relevant years of Safety & Risk experience.
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas, Mining and chemical industries.
  • Great communication skills both written & verbal.
  • Kept up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in safety & risk engineering.
  • Excellent knowledge of safety & risk engineering, and good understanding of the requirements of other engineering fields.
  • Familiar with applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory specifications.
  • A recognized degree in the relevant engineering discipline or equivalent.
