Job Description Summary

As SAP Lead Architect and Strategy Leader you’ll be responsible for managing strategic roadmap and provide solution design oversight for SAP PDx platform plus integrations across connected GEHC and GE corporate ecosystems. In this role you will be partnering with PDx business stakeholders, other digital technology leaders and respective SAP functional architects on translating business needs into structured delivery proposals and product roadmaps. You will also be responsible for securing system integrity and solution quality regarding most important cross-functional projects/programs.

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Drive strategic vision and delivery roadmap for PDx SAP global platform.
  • Establish confidence and manage strong working relationships with key leaders across PDx organization to ensure feasibility and best options for solution delivery
  • Partner with the business to develop business case/ROI for implementing SAP strategic initiatives. Identify the budget requirements, resource requirements and provide the high plan for strategic initiative.
  • Working with other GE Businesses, SAP company and other vendors conceptualize, and structure implementation of new software components and modules especially but not limited to:
  • Strategy and roadmap for S/4 HANA implementation
  • APO to Kinaxis migration
  • New GL implementation
  • Serialization
  • Cloud-based solution
  • Support PDx Digital Technology Leadership in developing SAP system strategy based on evolving business needs, growth ambition and technical vitality.
  • Build strong working relationships with solution architects, projects managers, business analysts and key business stakeholders on architectural soundness and technical feasibility of proposed solutions.
  • Work in lead architect role for major programs/projects in SAP system area securing project deliverables completeness and quality, especially:
  • Scope management,
  • Solution design/blueprinting,
  • Handing over to solution architects for build, testing and release
  • Any change which requires re-design or major shift in approach
  • Structure design workouts and other solutioning activities leading to the identification of design constraints, ensuring architecture conforms to all business requirements and quality standards.
  • Incorporate SAP solution architecture functions across respective functional areas into release management and product development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with SAP DevOps Lead and other members of SAP DevOps leadership on developing phasing strategy, resource plans, benefits case, org structures, risks and issues.
  • Participate steering committees, project-based teams and other governance bodies pertaining to the development of SAP platform across PDx organization, especially larger/strategic projects.
  • Motivate and collaborate horizontally cross-functional teams comprising of business SMEs, SAP Solution Architects, Developers and other technical team on design and delivery of larger cross-functional projects/development items.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong business analysis, problem solving, and strategy development skills
  • Ability to organize, motivate and co-ordinate diverse groups in complex situations providing confidence on direction and way forward.
  • Broad experience across multiple lines of business/industries delivering SAP system solutions, preferably for large multinational organizations.
  • Knowledge of global SAP ERP system deployment methodology in regulated industry context (pharmaceutical industry preferred) across functional areas / modules
  • Broad technical appreciation of SAP system technology with ability to rapidly assess new technology solutions if/when those become available.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) – or equivalent relevant qualification/experience
  • A minimum of 12 years of professional experience in Software Development and/or IT Operations and/or business process/digitisation
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in SAP system area including experience with strategic roadmap development, project/program delivery, system integrations, support operations.
