Job Summary

Communications Engineering team is looking for a talented engineer passionate about optimizing development and testing lifecycle via tools and process automation. As a QA and Test Automation Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our Unified Communications products & platforms.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing comprehensive test plans & strategies to ensure the quality and reliability of our products and platforms. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement, automate testing processes, and drive the adoption of best practices in quality assurance. Required Skills & Experience:

  • Hands-on experience in all phases of test lifecycle, including functional testing, integration testing, performance testing, and regression testing.
  • Good understanding of one of the following programming languages for writing automation test suites (Python, Typescript/Javascript/Java)
  • Experience with API testing tools / frameworks like Postman, Jmeter, SOAPUI.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities including packet traces using Wireshark and other standard troubleshooting tools.
  • Solid understanding of Restful API concepts including familiarity with Swagger, OAuth, OIDC frameworks
  • Experience in performance testing / load generators like SIPP, Gatling, Locust
  • Familiarity with SIP, RTP, TCP/IP and WebRTC is a plus.
  • Experience with UI and mobile app testing frameworks like selenium, Appium is a plus. 
  • Expertise and hands on experience on Linux Operating system
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Analyze product requirements to mitigate risk exposure by developing and executing test strategies and enforcing SDLC best practices and quality standards.
  • Design scalable test automation solutions that address comprehensive test coverage, prevent regression defects, and reduce time to market.
  • Develop test plans to satisfy technical requirements that address management, scalability, performance, and redundancy.
  • Define, document, and communicate test and certification results to stakeholders.
  • Serve as a guide and mentor for junior-level engineers. Provide technical leadership and consultation with regards to practices, procedures, and techniques.
  • Ensure solutions are well engineered, operable, maintainable, and delivered on schedule.
  • Stay up to date with the latest technologies and trends in quality assurance and test automation to drive innovation and excellence.

OtherCore Responsibilities

  • Writes and executes tests to validate products and software applications.
  • Contributes to the development of Quality Assurance test philosophies and methodologies. Identifies viable test strategies in order to support testing product functionality.
  • Collaborates with product and development teams to identify product and technical requirements.
  • Reviews and verifies requirements and design specifications for validity in overall product design, with an emphasis towards product testability and verification.
  • Ensures proper execution of regression test procedures and automated test suites and scripts. Participates in design, code and functional product reviews.
  • Works with other Quality Assurance Engineers or Software Engineers to identify, reproduce and document bugs or defects.
  • Assists in providing guidance and mentorship for junior-level Quality Assurance Engineers. Provides technical leadership and consultation with regards to practices, procedures and techniques.
  • Supports trials of new infrastructure designs/services.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
