GENERAL DUTIES

Completes non-teaching projects or complex work in support of a Campus or University administrative or academic department. This work is generally of a temporary nature and requires specialized experience or expertise.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION

The successful candidate will report to the Director of College Discovery.

Job Duties Include:

  • Provide instruction to individual or small groups of students to improve academic performance
  • Collaborate with faculty and College Discovery staff to identify specific student academic and study skills issues
  • Prepare lesson plans or learning modules for tutoring sessions according to students' needs and goals
  • Maintain records of students's tutoring sessions
  • Outreach and preserve open communication with students
  • Prepare and facilitate tutoring workshops and other academic support services for small groups of students
  • Compose end of semester report of student's assessments and final grade
  • Manage data and create charts for reports, surveys and assessments
  • Participate in trainings and program/college events
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree required.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, combination of education and experience

Expert knowledge in the Sciences - Preferred Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Nursing courses

Skills:

Candidates should have excellent communication skills (oral and written), active listening skills, critical thinking skills and a commitment to student success.

Technologically literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, comfortable using different databases and check-in systems as well as familiarity with Blackboard systems.

COMPENSATION

$47.42 per hour.
