Job Summary

Hörmann LLC has existed for almost ninety (90) years, producing, and delivering over 15 million doors worldwide. Over the years, we have expanded our portfolio to include many products, complimenting the extensive choice of doors we offer. Dock levelers have been sold for years in Europe as a product from expanding. Now we want to expand again by bringing the dock leveler technology to North America. We are launching a dock leveler manufacturing facility in Imperial, PA. We are currently seeking a fabricator to become an integral team member of the dock leveler business.

Major Responsibilities

• Weld steel subassemblies to AWS B2.1/B2.1M
• Create, prove out, and document dock leveler manufacturing process with emphasis on welding
• Active member on the launch team implementing the welding, painting, and assembly processes
• Accountable for every aspect of their work
• Check measurements and dimensions of each piece that’s being worked on with rulers, measuring tapes or squares
• Place each product component in its appropriate location as noted in the blueprints for proper alignment by using a hammer, pry bar, jack, wedge, or another tool
• Mark spots to cut and use tools to manipulate steel, by cutting, hammering, bending, or grinding the workpiece
• Review blueprints, drawings, and other specification papers before starting work on a fabrication process and during the steps to ensure accurate completion
• Maneuver fabrication machines, such as grinders, drill presses, brakes, rolls, and shears, to cut, bend, grind and adjust materials
• Make templates for common work tasks when conducting repetitive motions for the fabrication process to ensure a set standard of work quality

Minimum Requirements

• Versatile in performing different manufacturing tasks/duties.
• High school diploma or a GED equivalent
• Ability to comprehend blueprints, schematics, and work specifications
• Physical ability to lift at least 25 pounds or more
• AWS B2.1/B21M Qualified welder
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Kanban, and 5S
• Analytical problem solver
• Able to work with minimal supervision and accomplish goals in a timely manner
• Familiar with ERP systems and concepts, SAP preferred
• Effective communicator
• Effective teammate

Department and Supervisor

• The Fabricator will be a member of the Manufacturing team reporting to the Manufacturing Manager

Travel

• Expected travel will be <5% with training, periodic trips to Hörmann Germany, and equipment manufacturers
