FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Mathematics and Computer Science Department at Hostos Community College of the City University of New York (CUNY) invites applications for an Assistant Professor tenure track position. The Department specifically seeks applicants with interest in teaching, research, and the capacity to help develop and run a Cybersecurity program while helping to develop other areas related to this field.
Hostos Community College faculty work closely with students and each other in an open and collegial atmosphere. Hostos has both a teaching and a research mission and the candidate will be expected to teach core undergraduate courses in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, and related Mathematics courses as well as electives within their area of research and share responsibility of committee and other department assignments.
Potential candidates should be able to work collaboratively, contribute to departmental priorities in teaching, student recruitment, guidance, and research, and be able to lead efforts to broaden participation in our department. Candidates should have a record of professional development and/or professional experience commensurate with the rank of Assistant Professor in CUNY.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
The following qualifications are preferred:
COMPENSATION
$75,465 - $86,645; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
