  • This position is a hybrid position. On-site days will be required (M, T, W for Milwaukee)

The Artificial Intelligence engineer is responsible for helping to advance the state of security at Northwestern Mutual using Large Language Models, frameworks, and best practices. The candidate will be part of a small team aimed at rapidly iterating on new ideas to generate proof of value of AI within the security space at NM. Candidates should be experienced in python and modern DevOps practices to develop metrics-driven results.

In this role, the candidate can expect to:

  • Engineer machine learning solutions with a focus on automation using Python, Torch, and Gitlab to reduce manual/repetitive tasks
  • Implement and maintain pipelines and software dependencies for model delivery
  • Develop monitoring and performance telemetry to ensure expected capabilities
  • Monitor, assess, and recommend tactical and pivotal initiatives based on new and emerging threats posing risk to our environments
  • Stay apprised of current and new machine learning frameworks, models, and best practices for

Bring your best! What this role needs?

  • Bachelor’s degree, Associate's degree or equivalent experience with an emphasis in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, MIS or related field
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in software engineering or DevOps engineering
  • Knowledgeable about DevOps and automation practices and architecture
  • Knowledge of common Python and machine learning libraries
  • Experience with CICD pipelines to automate application and infrastructure code deployments
  • Experience with workload orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or Docker
  • Experience working with LLMs and Azure Cognitive Services a plus
  • Relevant certifications from GIAC, ISC(2) and other recognized cybersecurity industry organizations a plus

Compensation Range:

Pay Range - Start:

$110,040.00

Pay Range - End:

$204,360.00

Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
