Job Summary:

The Center for Professional Development in Career and Technical Education in the College of Education and Human Development is a grant-funded program charged with delivering field-based teacher education programming in a specialized setting.

Reporting to the Center Executive Director, the Assistant Director of Data Management and Evaluation

oversees all aspects of quality assurance, data management, and evaluation of the CTE center. This position often presents that data to internal and external collaborators. This includes working with the College of Education and Human Development and Temple University to ensure the quality and accuracy of data. This position is responsible for developing, distributing, and collecting surveys, evaluations, and data, as well as semester course scheduling, Act 48 materials, and center publications.

In addition, this position works closely with CTE teacher certification to assist with new teacher onboarding, testing, and communications, as well as assisting with maintaining the active student spreadsheet. Also, this position works closely with the Center's Executive Director to determine data needs, analyze various data sources, provide research support, and address Center concerns.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions of Position:

  • Design and execute data collection, evaluation, and reporting strategies across Center programs and processes to make recommendations for improvement, working collaboratively with Center staff.
  • Develop and maintain effective data management across Center programs to evaluate service areas, including the development of survey instruments and questionnaires to assess CTE student experiences, field-based instruction, and coaching, customer service, OCA (Occupational Competency Assessment) process, pre-induction, instructors, field staff, Center operations, work culture/climate, etc.
  • Compile CTE student-related reports, analyze results from data collection tools, and conduct presentations to disseminate reports and share findings to various stakeholders as needed.
  • Serve as the point person for Center data reporting, working with the College of Education and Human Development and Temple University to ensure the quality and accuracy of data.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of Center-wide projects, including coordinating workshops and professional development, Act 48 materials, marketing, and center publications.
  • Assist with new teacher onboarding, testing, and communications, including NOCTI/OCA scheduling and proctor engagement.
  • Utilize Temple’s systems including DestinyOne, Canvas, Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.), Qualtrics, etc., and other online platforms such as Canva, QR Codes, Web 2.0 Tools, etc.
  • Run Banner and Cognos reports to provide accurate student information to maintain spreadsheets.
  • Assist in the recruitment and outreach to partners and prospective students.
  • Assist in the preparation of audit materials.
  • Attend meetings and conferences as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Required Education & Experience:

BS in technical area: information management, business administration, statistics, education, or related area. At least four (4) years of related work experience with data management systems and evaluation in educational/workforce environments. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree
  • Microsoft Office Certified in Excel
  • Experience working in higher education. 
  • Familiarity with Career and Technical Education.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated experience in the creation of survey instruments and questionnaires to assess student experiences, field based experience, coaching and customer service.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using online systems, virtual meeting platforms and Microsoft 365, work with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Google products. Advanced knowledge of Excel is expected.
  • Use equitable strategies to analyze data, evaluate processes and implement solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills.
  • Listen and communicate effectively in writing.
  • Proven record of high-level customer service, time management and organizational skills.
  • Proven record of working with complex systems and databases.
  • Complete accurate data entry, prepare written reports and presentations, and present information in a clear manner.
  • Detailed oriented and provide accurate and timely information.
  • Seek input and troubleshoot information.
  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders and demonstrate cultural competency.
  • Adhere to all applicable policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Willingness to learn about the department and University policies and procedures to manage disagreements, solve problems, and make good decisions
  • Take initiative.
  • Work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
