Position Description

ADP is hiring a Sr. Lead, Data & Analytics Product Manager (Pod Manager) for the newly formed HR Outsourcing (HRO) Analytics organization. We’re looking for someone with experience acting as a “Product Manager”, “Project Manager”, and “Consultant” for advanced analytics teams. You’ll partner with business stakeholders and analytics team members to understand critical business issues and develop/own/deliver analytics solutions. This role is accountable for leading and managing advanced analytics teams towards agile solution development and the person must be highly organized with previous program management expertise in a start-up, fast paced environment. This role will have no direct reports but will lead a cross-functional technical team Data Scientists, Data Engineers, BI Analysts). This role has no direct reports and reports directly to the Head of HRO Analytics Strategic Pod Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Seek to understand the business deeply and develop strong relationships with stakeholders and team members in a highly matrixed environment
  • Quickly grasp strategic objectives, business processes, how data and analytics are used, and the link between data analytics strategy and business strategy
  • Develop business use cases for analytics projects in conjunction with stakeholders and conduct deep quantitative and qualitative business analysis and research on market trends.
  • Manage business case backlog for assigned pod and determine “what’s the problem that needs to solved”
  • Must have an “owner” and “accountable” mindset
  • Proactive self-starter who can hit the ground running immediately with little direction
  • Possess excellent written communication, analytical, and story-telling skills with ability to present complex concepts to management, team members and non-technical audiences using PowerPoint, Excel and other tools
  • Comfortable with operating in ambiguity/change within start-up like environments and navigating complexity/uncertainty
  • Successfully lead, create, manage and execute all phases of analytics projects that encompass business intelligence, data science, and engineering team members
  • Deeply understand business goals and end-user needs; Customer -centric mindset
  • Conduct end-user interviews to get insights on business problems we are trying to solve, key questions to be answered by the solution, and how the solution will fit into the business process to be supported
  • Possess strong end-to-end (solution development – delivery) agile project management background with ability to define project scope, business requirements and subsequent functionality/output to meet those goals
  • Write Agile stories to capture the requirements/needs and align and focus your pod on the problem (business case) to solve
  • Excellent interpersonal and two-way communication skills

Qualifications:

  • Role is a hybrid role. Required to be in the office 3 days and 2 days remote
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, computer science, statistics, or related fields; advanced degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in leading a cross functional agile product or solution development team with demonstrated success in a Product Management, Project Management, and/or Consulting role (preferably a combination of data science, business intelligence, and engineering)
  • Strong Project Management skills, highly organized, strong focus on thoughtful execution
  • Deep understanding of agile methodologies and what makes teams successful
  • Deep knowledge on business applications of analytics (e.g., machine learning, statistical testing, dashboarding, etc.), data engineering, and technology
  • A keen understanding of user centric product or solutions design is a strong bonus (design thinking)
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills (ability to analyze and work with large complex data and business problems)
  • Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint skills and strong proficiency in effectively putting together presentations and story depending on the audience and initiative
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and workstreams end to end
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate teams towards high levels excellence and standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Scrum Master Certification
  • Python or SQL preferred
  • Jira and Confluence preferred
  • Analytics and Strategy Consulting experience from MBB/Big4 or Fortune 500 experience
  • Change management and large-scale transformation experience.
  • Experience building out an analytics function at another organization.
  • Risk, Insurance, or HCM Industry experience is a plus
  • B2B experience
