ABOUT THIS ROLE

What you will do all day:

  • Deliver results - Collaborate with Business and Operational units to systematically collect and analyze requirements pertaining to critical business processes, then design and build automated solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate and embed with engineering and product teams - As a member of operations team you will work closely with those delivery teams related to ongoing bug fixes, feature releases and product launches to ensure supportability and operability requirements are accounted for.
  • Run our clearing platform - You will be expected to influence the decrease in frequency and severity of technical incidents which negatively impact internal and external customers.
  • Support our world class client base - Promote a culture of quick and effective reactions to client reports; Provide the front-line agents with the tools, knowledge and support they need for quick and effective responses to new requests. Identify smart and creative ways to solve issues and client challenges.
  • Keep your finger on the pulse of our systems - You are in tune at all times with the health of our services and client experience thru monitoring and data visualization tools.

The skills you will need to succeed:

  • 3+ years of proven history supporting Java applications, Restful APIs and Microservices
  • 3+ years of database experience (MSSQL and/or NoSQL)
  • Experience designing and implementing scheduling workflows using automation tools (Tidal,Airflow…) to streamline business processes
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand scheduling requirements and translate them into efficient workflows
  • Extensive support experience in a cloud or hybrid environment
  • Experience with Kafka, SQL, Protobufs, and reactive, multi-tenant applications
  • Superior troubleshooting and critical thinking skills; Ability to localize failures within large distributed systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a similar field
  • Advance OS troubleshooting skills (Linux and Windows)
  • Strong scripting abilities (Python, Groovy, Ruby)
  • Ability to learn new and unfamiliar technologies quickly (languages, tools, frameworks)
  • Experience with monitoring and visualization tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Datadog, Elastic, Kibana, etc…)

Preferred skills:

  • Financial Services background is a plus
  • Support experience with trade execution, processing and reporting service
  • Experience working in a high speed, high availability trading platform using FIX or similar messaging protocols
