We are looking for a Senior Customer Solutions Engineer to analyze RFPs (Request for Proposals), develop client-tailored solutions, and present them to business unit executives and prospective clients for approval. If you have successful 3PL (Third-party Logistics) solutions engineering experience and are motivated by being a key player in closing deals, consider joining Kuehne+Nagel in Dallas, Memphis, or Charlotte.

Your Role

You will take the lead in major customer tender proposals, introduce and implement new technology concepts, build on existing best practices, and drive compelling logistics concepts and innovation. You will be the business partner for your management team when addressing solution queries from customers and constructively challenge if needed.

Your Responsibilities

  • Conduct customer tender response projects to define best-in-class solution options
  • Include advanced knowledge of technology and equipment in proposals
  • Independently create solutions designs with the required cost models
  • Create detailed data analysis from provided customer data; drive value proposition of the solution offering
  • Lead team members during the tender process, customer solutions responses, and be a main contact for the customer
  • Spearhead implementations and optimization projects
  • Mentor engineers and analysts to achieve their career development goals
  • Actively use knowledge of changes/trends within the market that will impact logistics services
  • Review work of others (4 Eyes Principle)
  • Train team members on engineering and market know-how
  • Travel domestically 25% of the time, and occasionally internationally, to perform customer site surveys to develop value propositions and solutions

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Logistics, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 4-7 years of related experience working in a 3PL (Third-party Logistics) distribution environment
  • Strong working knowledge of P&L statements
  • Sound application knowledge of automated material handling equipment such as AS/RS, pallet and case conveyors, sorters, AGVs, and monorails
  • Computer Aided Design (CAD) experience
  • Ability to travel an average of 25% of the time as needed, both domestically and internationally
