Role Profile:

LSEG's Post Trade Technology Division is seeking a skilled Technical Lead for the BMC Control-M Batch Scheduler. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of batch processing systems. You will be responsible for running a batch scheduling team who work closely with the Service Development & Production Teams to provide updates and support. This role requires a solid understanding of batch scheduling principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with various teams to meet operational requirements.

Would be required to work on Morning, Day or Night shift based on UK time according to the monthly roster. Out of hours support overnight and across weekends and Bank Holidays is frequently needed. Should be able to provide on-call support.

They need to be subject matter experts in the underlying technologies used by the applications. They may be required to provide detailed technical support for developers producing bug fixes & new releases of these applications.

Must be self-motivating with the ability to prioritize workload.

Key Responsibilities

Support of the LSEG Post Trade Solution TradeAgent application.

Support of a critical element of the London financial infrastructure.

  • Supervise Control-M batches to identify and resolve issues, ensuring maximum uptime and system availability.
  • Resolve Incidents and Problems
  • Fix and resolve batch job failures, raising issues to appropriate teams when vital.
  • Monitor ServiceNow for Incidents and Problems
  • Analyse problems and decide on suitable resolutions
  • Apply resolutions following the Post Trade Change Management procedure
  • Report status to relevant business and IT teams
  • Record progress of incident resolution in ServiceNow
  • Follow documented incident management procedures
  • Bug fixes and enhancements to Post Trade products
  • Collaborate with application support teams to understand batch job requirements and optimize scheduling parameters for efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain job scheduling standards, procedures, and documentation to ensure consistency and alignment to standard processes.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams to prioritise and optimize system performance for batch processing workloads.
  • Stay on top of industry trends and advancements in batch scheduling technologies, recommending changes to improve system reliability and performance.
  • Design solutions for longer term fixes for bugs and minor functionality enhancement requests
  • Implement fixes
  • Update code repository with source code changes where necessary
  • Update relevant WIKI/ documentation with changes
  • Co-ordinate the Release process for new releases
  • Work to the ITIL standard following Post Trade policies
  • Building and supporting environments
  • Maintain working relationship with business teams and business management

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Education:

  • Degree educated, preferably in a technical field

Required skills and experience

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong understanding of product development lifecycle and methodologies
  • Demonstrable experience of leading a Scheduling Team or similar role, preferably in a financial services environment.
  • Relevant certifications such as BMC Certified Control-M Engineer (BCCE) or Control-M Foundations Certification are a plus.
  • BMC Control-M Admin skills would be a benefit.
  • Experience of deploying via Jenkins, Pipelining in Gitlab and running batches in Cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Good knowledge of DevOps and its related Technologies : CI/CD, Jenkins , Ansible
  • Good UNIX/Linux System Administration skills
  • Good SQL Coding skills (Oracle SQL)
  • Good Scripting skills (Shell scripting, Python)
  • Hands-on in version control repository/Deployment (Ideally bitbucket, GitLab)
  • Experience in Service Now
  • Experience with Risk and Application/Development Teams.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, information technology, or related field.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading a Scheduling Team or similar role, preferably in a financial services environment.
  • Work optimally under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, to collaborate effectively with multi-disciplines.
  • Willing to adopt Hybrid working mode and work in Bangalore Office
  • Good to have ITIL or AWS certification
  • Experience in Financial or an investment banking environment or clearing service environment
  • Knowledge of Trade Life Cycle services
  • Familiarity with financial products and financial terms
  • Excellent analytical skills, Attention to Detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Solid technical background in the core technologies with several years of experience.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to IT, business teams and to senior management
  • Strong negotiation / influencing skills able to overcome resistance and reach consensus and compromise in order to attain the required objective.
