Job Description

Air Cost Control (“A2C”), a subsidiary of HEICO, a leading global aerospace distribution company, is seeking a Sales Engineer to support our Aerospace and Defense activities in North America. The role can either be remote or based in Sunrise, Florida. We are seeking an experienced salesperson with an in-depth knowledge in aerospace interconnect products. To support our global growth and customer engagement objectives, our ideal candidate has 5+ years of field sales experience and has successfully won and implemented new products and strategies with key aerospace customers.

Requirements

As a Sales Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:

Responsibilities

  • Experience selling, buying, manufacturing, or developing interconnect electrical hardware products (cables, connectors, electromechanical devices, harness protection, clamps, routing supports, etc.) required.
  • Recognize opportunities for new programs or where competitors’ products are not performing. 
  • Develop and win new business opportunities from assigned customer base utilizing industry experience and relationships with customers.
  • Utilize existing relationships with suppliers and understanding of electrical hardware products to provide custom and new solutions to our customers.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop, establish, and execute a strategic plan aligning with the company's overall goals.
  • Develops and implements account strategy that drives growth and supports overall objectives.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with Sales, Product Management, and other HEICO entities to ensure customer-focused strategies.
  • Function as a resource for customer escalations and actively help resolve any concerns.
  • Visit new and existing customers on a regular basis or as needed.
  • Establish, grow, and maintain strong relations with key clients.
  • Actively participate in new account development.
  • Attend Trade Show events to keep track of market intelligence in the industry with respect to market development, projects, competitive activity, and to establish new contacts.
  • Target development customers on his / her own initiative.
  • Drive opportunities for blanket, program, and long-term agreement purchases.
  • Lead follow up initiatives and or coordinate follow up activity with the inside sales team.
  • Participate in monthly and quarterly sales meetings within the company and report on updates of assigned key accounts.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations that promote the company and our Strategic Partners, and where possible, technically differentiate our products over competitors.
  • Regularly monitor RFQ (pricing and lead time) activity with Inside Sales Team
  • Negotiate short and long-term pricing contracts in coordination with Contracts, Inside Sales and Product Management.
  • Prepare and complete trip reports to plan objectives and document results
  • Strategically price long term contracts and fixed price agreements.
  • Recommend and implement pricing strategies to improve market position and or gross profit.
  • Proactively and continually work to creatively sell off slow moving inventory.

Qualifications

Technical experience with selling interconnect products into the aerospace market. The candidate has a strong track record of growing revenue and product mix with customers

  • Bachelors 3+ years’ experience preferred; will consider Associates 5+ years’ experience
  • History in communicating, presenting, and influencing all levels both externally and internally
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Power Point
  • Experience selling electrical hardware and interconnect products
  • Experience in avionics, connectors, or electrical component distribution strongly desired, this can be derived from a manufacturing or other aerospace distributors
  • This role requires a real go-getter that has an in-depth knowledge of interconnect products and applications
  • Candidate must demonstrate a high level of ownership and drive, ability to handle multiple tasks 
  • concurrently, meet tight deadlines, and focus on highly detailed projects
  • Must have strong follow-up and task tracking skills
  • Must be able to make well thought out decisions that are in the best interest of the business
  • Must be self-motivated and resilient to adapt and conform to the position requirements
  • Must be willing to travel 30% - 35% of the time across North America

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Candidate must demonstrate a high level of ownership and drive, ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently, meet tight deadlines, and focus on highly detailed projects.
  • Strong ability to utilize existing relationships and resources to deliver on new business opportunities.
  • Strong network within the aerospace industry on both customer and supplier side.
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects and working with a variety of colleagues with different backgrounds is a must.
  • Experience with contract negotiations and complex new product introductions.
