As an UNIX, VMware and Database Support Engineer, you will be responsible for the UNIX Servers ecosystem, VMware Ecosystems and Database Servers s in Murex as part of the operations team responsible for that technology. You will provide direct technical support in problem management, integration, and systems maintenance of the of the UNIX, VMware and Database tenancy. Also, you will ensure performance and availability meet SLA’s and objectives through monitoring, timely service restoration, and tuning. Duties may include implementation, maintenance/administration, troubleshooting and diagnostics. Duties will include also 24/7 support hours since users exist everywhere in the world, and they might run jobs during or outside working hours. 

Your role

  • Install, configure, and upgrade Cloud (AWS, Azure), UNIX (RHEL, UBUNTU), Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, Oracle Solaris Zones), Databases (Oracle, MS SQL Server, and PostgreSQL) and Docker/Kubernetes ecosystems. 
  • Provide a high level of incident management/analysis for the different systems listed above and make sure root cause analysis done and problem identified and resolved, and client informed of the status. 
  • Write scripts to automate administration tasks using Ansible and/or Shell scripts. 
  • Follows projects and tasks to maintain and enhance the collaboration infrastructure. 
  • Deliver support for end users and other IT teams at the agree upon response and resolution service level agreements. 
  • Participate in the creation of documentation to ease the work for the operation team. 
  • Follow procedures and guidelines for maintenances/upgrades. 
  • Create new monitoring for the infrastructure and resolve incidents raised by those monitoring systems. 
  • Participate in discussions and presentation to evolve the infrastructure. 

Your profile

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in computer science or engineering degree 
  • Strong analytical skills and efficient problem solving 
  • Willingness to learn continuously 
  • Good level in English is required 
  • Excellent Communication skills to be able to handle difficult stressful cases with clients. 
  • Jenkins/Ansible/Terraform/Shell scripting knowledge is a plus 
  • Any experience in UNIX, AWS, VMware, Oracle ecosystems is a plus 
  • Open to cover different types of 24/7 shifts when needed
