Job Summary:

Crooked is hiring for a Tour & Events Manager on the Community team reporting to the SVP, Community & Partnerships. This role will focus on directing all logistical tour and event-related procedures for Crooked Media’s flagship podcast live show recordings, branded events, and Vote Save America fundraisers in 2024 and beyond.

This role will be responsible for managing all aspects of live shows and events from inception and sales packaging to advance and day-of logistics, working cross functionally with teams from marketing and operations to programming and sales. We are looking for a meticulously organized, budget-conscious, and personable individual who is well-prepared for the issues that sometimes arise at events and can deal with them resourcefully and efficiently.

Crooked records live shows, hosts nationwide events and will perform multiple shows back-to-back on monthly fly-date runs. You will provide organizational, administrative, and boots-on-the-ground support for various live events including tour dates, events, and fundraisers. To ensure success as the Crooked Media tour & event manager, you should exhibit financial savviness and thoughtfulness about forecasted movements; possess a can-do attitude, and offer steady emotional and practical support. 

Crooked has adopted a hybrid work model for our entire staff. We believe that the best work is done in a hybrid capacity as it combines the flexibility of working from home with in-person collaboration. We are ideally looking for Los Angeles-based candidates, or candidates willing to relocate within the first 3 months of accepting an offer. 

How You’ll Spend Your Time:

Tour and Live Event Strategy and Planning:

  • Work closely with Senior Staff to establish a long range vision, goals and priorities for Crooked’s live, tour and event strategy as well as Vote Save America’s fundraising events
  • Take the lead on packaging and producing sponsorable events and fundraisers
  • Coordinate development of event sales collateral material
  • Managing new event businesses strategy and execution 
  • Comms and management with WME for show/event planning, venue changes, guest updates, and ticket holder comms
  • Develop and manage relationships with strategic industry partners and vendors as well as internal and external clients 
  • Work with finance to develop, track and meet revenue goals for tours and live events as well as oversee all reporting, liaise with the accounting and finance teams to track and manage all invoicing and expenses

Advance and On-Site Management: 

Project managing pre-production of tour, including logistics, staffing, budget, security any other needs ahead of tour date Book travel, ground transportation, accommodations, and any adjacent services in coordination with travel agent and production teams

  • Communicate in advance with concert promoters and venue management to coordinate load-in, sound check, and set times; and convey the podcast production’s tech rider, security, and hospitality needs.
  • Plan and disseminate in-depth itineraries and day sheets 
  • Manage talent relations while on tour to ensure the talent experience is seamless and they are ready to perform each show
  • Manage day-of logistics for any planned media engagements 
  • Supervise production needs such as lighting, sound, camera set-up, guest choreography, stage set up, etc.
  • Oversee tour merch shipments and show sales
  • Work closely with promoters and venue management to optimize venue seating according to attendance/ ticket sales
  • Handle guest list management
  • Complete talent and touring staff-requested errands (within reason)
  • Remain highly accessible to stakeholders

What You’ll Bring To The Table:

  • 5+ years of experience as a tour or event manager or similar
  • A sense of urgency and ability to drive complex projects forward
  • Strong communication skills, and the ability to manage the needs and feedback of various stakeholders, departments and talent. 
  • Formal training in events coordination is ideal with security, comfort and efficiency in mind 
  • Experience managing high-budget tours and events efficiently and responsibly 
  • Polished logistical and problem-solving methods
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Keen attention to detail and a drive to build relationships and operate with integrity
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Slack and GSuite
  • Candidate must be willing to travel minimum of 30% for this role

When we open up a position, we conduct a market analysis to ensure we have the most up-to-date data. Once we’re ready to extend an offer, we look at the individual’s years of relevant experience and other compensable factors to determine a competitive offer. And for this role, the starting salary range is $80,000 -$90,000
