Hybrid Working 

Structured hybrid role: 

At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please discuss the working pattern requirements for the role you are applying for with the hiring manager. Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.

Introduction 

  • To work for the GTIS Complex Delivery to ensure efficient delivery of the projects in Networks area.
  • Work with Project Managers to create Low level design for the project by following engineering standards. 
  • Network Solutions Engineer is responsible for ensuring that any designs produced are in line with the current network architecture and infrastructure strategy documentation and are fit for purpose.
  • Be responsible for end to end delivery of the Project tasks.
  • Work with global teams to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Contribute to the management of risk to ensure;
  • Compliance to regulatory and mandatory policies
  • Audit findings and Issue Assurances are fully addressed

What will you be doing?

  • Takes full responsibility to ensure the infrastructure component strategy of complex, most critical and usually most costly components meet the business requirements within the clients budget.
  • Contribute to the definition of infrastructure strategy and policy.
  • Will assist the Lead Network Engineering Technologist to ensure that network infrastructure initiatives adhere to the roadmap.
  • Working with designers, Project Service Architects and Architecture, Governance & Standards for input and to understand and influence changes in architectures policies and strategy.

What we’re looking for:

  • Handling Layer-4 to Layer-7 network products like Firewall, Load balancers, Proxy.
  • Hands-on experience in Cisco ACI, Nexus 
  • Hands-on experience with F5 BIGIP load balancers
  • Fortinet Juniper, Checkpoint and Cisco ASA firewalls

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Preferred certifications:

 Fortigate – FCNSA 

 F5 – CTS-LTM, CTS-GTM

 Python, Ansible, shell scripting

  • Change management:
  • ITIL process awareness – change, incident and problem management
