Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Digital Development Lead specialising in digital fashion and garment technology to join our ASOS Digital Development Team. Working across both menswear and womenswear, as the Digital Development Lead you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our digital vision as well as driving innovative solutions that align with our overarching strategic goals.

Principal Accountabilities

Strategy

  • Identify opportunities for digital innovation and propose strategic initiatives.
  • Drive Digital Development to align with company objectives and initiatives, such as speed to market, reducing customer returns, and minimising sampling.
  • Formulate and deliver 3D fitting strategy to ensure ASOS stays at the forefront of virtual fitting, block development & marker efficiency to support the business cost model.
  • Continuously review and update ASOS Master Block Library and patterns to ensure global fit consistency within the supplier base and across all brands.
  • Formulate and deliver grade rules, POM and size specification strategy to ensure consistency across all products & brands.
  • Formulate and deliver 3D Virtual Fitting /training guidelines across the business and supply base.

Job Knowledge

  • Establish ASOS best fit for our customers and drive fit consistency with standardised blocks.
  • Ensure international conversion matrix reflects best fit for our ASOS Customer.
  • Drive consistency with grade rules across departments and global markets.
  • Support and drive initiatives such as supplier self-sealing, audits, accreditation, speed to market, and test and react initiatives.
  • Manage the update of size guides and fit parameters to enhance the customer experience and reduce returns.
  • Actively work to improve right first-time fits and reduce returns using data driven tools, with a keen focus on enhancing the customer experience.
  • Effectively manage critical paths to ensure the timely execution of projects.
  • Proficient in Digital Sampling, 3D fitting, and the integration of digital technologies in the product development process for clothing.
  • Incorporate sustainability practices and considerations into the digital development process.
  • Facilitate supplier onboarding and support the uptake of digital technologies, fostering collaborative relationships.

  • Develop, build, and motivate the team by identifying strengths and fostering workplace development.
  • Develop and deliver training modules for both the business and supply base, sharing expertise.

Qualifications

Competencies & Behaviours

  • Proven extensive experience of working with both 2D and 3D Digital Fashion software and hardware.
  • Strong technical knowledge of garment product development processes including design, specifications, avatar building, blocks, patterns, physical and digital fitting, grading, lay planning and costing through to bulk production.
  • Possess a global perspective, working across both menswear and womenswear.
  • A forward-thinker who can envisage the future of digital development.
  • A pro-active, high-achieving perfectionist, you rise to challenges and adapt rapidly to change.
  • Strong technical knowledge in fit, retail garment technology covering all areas of product development from sketch, block patterns, prototypes, through to bulk production.
  • Proven experienced and knowledge of working with buying team and suppliers.
