About the Role
Due to exciting growth opportunities, this newly-created Associate Counsel role will responsible for working closely with the Development & Future Networks division of AusNet in providing legal advice and partnering with key stakeholders to craft strategies and solutions to achieve new growth that the business is actively pursuing in New South Wales.
You would be the lead Counsel representing AusNet in a consortium, instrumental in ensuring that AusNet’s activities are legally compliant, well-managed and aligned with its overarching objectives of delivering greenfield energy infrastructure to support the clean energy transition. You will work within a highly-regarded legal team and alongside experienced infrastructure development professionals, offering excellent opportunity to further develop and hone legal and commercial skills in the critical infrastructure sector.
This role will report to the Deputy General Counsel, Energy Zones & Development and is located in Central Sydney.
We are a flexible and truly hybrid workplace.
What you will deliver
You will advise the project team and work with other consortium members in responding to government-led project opportunities, tender submissions and subsequent contract negotiations, negotiating upstream and intra-consortium arrangements. Alongside energy infrastructure development, you will also be central in negotiating sponsor and contractor arrangements and contracting, in respect of both network infrastructure construction and long-term operations and maintenance, and their delivery. Partnering with key stakeholders, you will become a trusted adviser on crucial projects enabling the energy transition.
