Job Description

Vantiva Connected Home is looking for an IT Operations Servers and Storage Senior Administrator. This position is located in Bangalore, India, but will cater to global needs in Vantiva’ s corporate locations.

  • Installation, support, maintenance, configuration, management, monitoring and performance of all UNIX architecture(s) including AIX, Solaris, RedHat, CentOS and Ubuntu.
  • Must have experience in the following UNIX/LINUX technologies:
  • Account Management/PAM
  • SUDO and File System permissions
  • Bash and other scripting languages like Python
  • AD Integration – SSSD, Kerberos
  • Automation tools – Ansibel, Chef
  • Clustering using RedHat Cluster Suite and HACMP
  • Patching Services
  • Crontab/Tar
  • System logs
  • Slackware Packages
  • CIS policies
  • Must have an understanding of Storage (NFS/CIFS), SAN (Fiber Channel/iSCSi).
  • Experience in Aspera and Hypervisors (Vmware/HyperV) will be considered favorably.
  • Installation, support, maintenance, configuration, management, monitoring and performance of all SAN/NAS infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot storage issues and engage Server/Network/Database Administrators and Application Owners when necessary.
  • Good to have understanding with the following Storage technologies:
  • NAS – NFS and CIFS protocols
  • SAN – FiberChannel and iScsi protocols
  • NetApp FAS series Arrays
  • EMC Isilon and Compellent
  • Dell Unity Storage
  • Must have a basic understanding of Hypervisors (Vmware/HyperV)
  • Must have knowledge of Brocades and Networking devices.
  • Fulfill backup and data protection needs.
  • Exposure to other storage devices is preferred.
  • File Transfer System Knowledge like FTP’s, SFTP, Aspera.
  • Aspera – Faspex, Point to Point
  • Should be a fast learner, work with vendor Tech Support as a last resort.
  • Must have the ability to document changes and store in a centralized location.
  • Must have worked in an Incident Management tool and follow company policies in Change Management.
  • Must provide regular updates to management on accomplishments, issues and progress.
  • Avoid working in a bubble, engage with stake holders to gather requirements, understand pain-points and develop solutions.
  • Ability to discuss issues and prepare/present Root Cause Analysis to a varied audience.
  • Will need to work rotational shifts to cater to global needs.
  • Will be part of a global OnCall team.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Must have 8 years experience as a technical expert in the area of Linux & Storage Administration.
  • Relevant experience in IT Infrastructure Support/implementation - Storage platforms, preferably with multiple client's landscape and technology landscapes (Windows Server, Unix, Linux).
  • Experienced in supporting heterogeneous IT environment for large Manage Service and System Integration accounts.
  • Experience on Multi vendor Storage administration.
  • Experience in mentoring, coaching, and enabling the tech engineers within Storage technologies.
