Job Description

We recently established the Finance Velocity Office, designed to accelerate our path to building a world-class finance function. This newly created function will shape our transformation strategy, improve our business operations and enhance the impact we make as a function. Why velocity? This newly dedicated team will help us drive global consistency and operate as one team to:

  1. Build a foundation that supports the growth and complexity of our business and improves the day-to-day interactions of our Finance teams.
  2. Modernize our processes to enable better, faster decision making and drive more timely insights for our clients and business partners.
  3. Implement technology to evolve how we work together to achieve meaningful, sustainable change and enable our long-term growth agenda.
  4. Ensure a clear and measurable set of KPIs against our Finance OKRs and Scorecard to track, report and recognize key milestones and impact statements for our work product.

The Senior Director Finance Transformation Initiative Coach will join the Finance Velocity office from the beginning and: Serve as FVO liaison and strategic partner to initiatives, Provide 'outside-in' pressure testing on deliverables, Partner with initiative to resolve milestone blockers & Provide SWAT capacity to initiatives as needed

These will include revisiting our end to end forecast to plan processes, the way we set and deploy Capital envelopes and rigor test business cases and impact and shape our operating model within Finance to enable the businesses growth.

This role reports to the VP, Global Finance Transformation but will have frequent interaction with the SVP Finance Transformation Officer, the Chief Finance Officer and the Finance Leadership Team. 

Essential Functions:

  • Finance Velocity Office Updates: Provide color on risks for respective initiatives; details decision options for CVO input, and whether escalation is needed, share qualitative update on overall initiative progression, highlight soft risks unrelated to milestone delivery
  • Escalate issues: Drive predictive, forward-looking view of performance, and escalate issues with stakeholders for resolution
  • Own initiative deliverables: train, enforce, coach Initiative owners on trackers, tools and templates (e.g., templates for charters, business cases). Drive line-of-questioning to pressure-test initiative designs, milestone delivery, Partner with initiative to problem-solve blockers to milestone delivery, Coordinate change management, comms, HR support for initiative
  • Support as-needed surge asks: Drive ad hoc analysis (e.g., pressure-testing, progress tracking etc.) for leadership as requested
  • People: lead initiative teams guide them through charters, business cases, roadmaps, metrics etc
  • Influence without accountability as teams will report directly to other teams
  • Process Drive consistency in approach across transformation; manage templates, processes and methodologies to ensure consistency across transformation initiatives

Successful Qualities:

  • Business acumen: Understanding of company and Finance strategy, how transformation ambitions link to the specific initiatives.
  • Strong voice for issue resolution: Active role in driving cross-initiative and cross-functional intervention for resolution of challenges
  • Experience in project governance and oversight: Lead Program Mgmt. setup and capabilities; strategize on governance, cadences and engagement model with the Head of Finance Transformation
  • Strong communication: Proven strong communication with senior leadership to provide transparency and drive clear accountability for ownership of activities and milestones.
  • Change championing: Engage and activate leaders and stakeholders towards change, driving positive sentiment and willingness towards transformation.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD in Finance, Management Consulting, Information Technology or related fields

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 12 years of professional experience with 5-7 years of relevant experience in a well-disciplined Finance team and organization where processes are optimized and are integral to the management of the business
  • MBA strongly preferred
  • Investment banking and management consulting strongly preferred
  • Ability to manage, develop, and mentor an impactful team
  • Experience in Finance and/or Financial Planning & Analysis team with a detailed understanding of financial accounting and management reporting a plus
  • Proactive, strategic problem solver
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
  • Outstanding problem solving skills with the highly developed ability to present information effectively to executive management
  • Must be detail oriented to ensure accuracy and quality of output
  • Excellent interpersonal and people leadership skills
  • Ability to work optimally with other functional areas and understand the operational and cultural issues relevant to achieving outstanding results

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 176,900.00 to 230,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
