As a Senior Data Scientist at Slalom, your focus will be defining, crafting, and implementing machine learning solutions that help our clients advance their strategies, improve operations and reduce costs. We collaborate with a diverse range of leaders across clients, partners, and Slalom, including data architects, data engineers, project management, and business advisory services. We are open to hiring at either Senior Consultant or Principal-level, based on candidate experience. 

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with clients to solve complex business problems; identify and implement solutions for advanced analytics use cases.
  • Design, develop, evaluate and modify unsupervised, supervised, and reinforcement machine learning algorithms in the context of solving business problems.
  • Identify, ingest, and prepare third-party data sources, as needed, to improve the performance of models.
  • Create cloud-based data ingestion and preparation pipelines to support analytics use cases.
  • Develop data and ML pipelines to automate and operationalize data collection, analysis, and visualization/publication of insights.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis in support of the client’s needs during the engagement.
  • Implement ML Engineering and MLOps best practices to automate model (re)training, evaluation, and deployment.
  • Present and communicate insights, model results, and resultant recommendations to key client stakeholders.

What You’ll Bring

  • 3+ years’ experience in professional services working on team-based consulting projects for external clients, skilled in Python or R, with preference for proficiency with on one or more public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience in commercial applications of qualitative, predictive, and prescriptive analytics and machine learning models.
  • Demonstrated experience with commercial and open-source statistical and analytics tools (e.g. Python, SQL, R, Databricks, Spark etc.).
  • Experience with large data sets, 3rd party data acquisition, and operating in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with emphasis on presentation skills and communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Compensation and Benefits

Slalom prides itself on helping team members thrive in their work and life. Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position, the base salary pay range is $120,000 to $186,000 for Senior Consultant and $133,000 to $206,000 for Principal. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
