DKSH Business Unit Performance Materials distributes specialty chemicals and ingredients for food, pharmaceutical, personal care, and various Polymer related industrial applications. As part of our exciting growth plans, our UK team are looking for a Sales Manager who is fueled by their own initiative alongside working as part of a team. Together with a natural passion for sales, we welcome talents from the field of Polymer Science / Chemical Engineering seeking a career on the forefront of the Specialty Chemicals Industry with DKSH Great Britain.

In this exciting position, you will spearhead market entry strategies to reach new markets and customers, while building strong client relationships. In addition to remote working arrangements available throughout the UK, this position entails a genuine enthusiasm for conducting client and customer visits across the UK & Ireland.

General Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to drive business growth in new and existing markets
  • Conduct timely and precise forecasting to establish predictable and recurring revenue targets
  • Achieve sales objectives within the assigned segment, while efficiently managing costs and gross margin
  • Proficient in cold calling to generate leads and drive sales growth
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with business partners and customers
  • Lead negotiations and conclude deals with clients and customers
  • Monitor and analyze market trends and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge
  • Represent DKSH at industry events and trade shows

Functional Skills and Knowledge

  • Degree/Masters in Polymer Science / Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or proven industry background and experience
  • Proven technical & sales management experience is preferred
  • Deep knowledge of industry and trends for the Specialty Chemicals Industry, specifically within plastics, composites, rubber, and fibres
  • Strong negotiation and communication abilities
  • Highly motivated and target driven with good time-management skills
  • Proficient in CRM software and sales analytics tools
  • Good knowledge of office tools (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
