Position Overview 

The Senior Director of Lifelong Learning and Continuing Education provides administrative leadership for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at UNT, as well as the University of North Texas Retiree Association (UNTRA). The senior director sets goals annually in collaboration with the Assistant Vice President of Donor Engagement and Advancement Services. The Senior Director oversees OLLI and UNTRA operations, curriculum, registration, revenue, and expenses, as well as managing the volunteer leadership of both groups. The Senior Director is in charge of recruiting faculty and community professionals to provide academic content, serving as the representative of OLLI at UNT and UNTRA, managing fundraising activities to remain self-supporting, increasing OLLI and UNTRA membership. The Senior Director is also responsible for all reporting related to fundraising activities, including the annual OSHER reporting.

Minimum Qualifications 

Bachelor’s Degree in related field and six (6) years of administrative experience in an educational setting; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • Ability to plan and organize, evaluate and analyze, mentor and coach others. 
  • Knowledge of operational systems, compliance with UNT Policies and ability to coordinate multiple event sites and events. 
  • Skills: Blackbaud RE/NXT, Microsoft Teams, budget planning, fundraising. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience managing an OLLI program or a similar program managing lifelong learning in the senior population.
  • Prior fundraising experience including annual giving, corporations and foundation, leadership annual giving, major gift and planned giving.
  • Prior experience in volunteer management.
  • Prior experience managing a staff of at least four.
  • Prior knowledge or experience with Campus CE.

Work Schedule 

Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm with occasional nights and weekends. High volume times may require longer workdays.

Ensures that OLLI at UNT is self-sustaining by 2030.
