QA Architect – Mobile Print Automation

The QA Architect is a senior position responsible for managing QA processes, defining, and implementing test strategy, test plans, and test execution of products and mobile solutions. On a day-to-day basis, the QA architect works closely with senior development architects and the QA technical leads to develop the best QA strategies and test methodologies to meet and exceed quality goals.

The Architect's role is expected to:

  • Responsible for developing and designing the overall end-to-end test strategy for Cloud/Client/Mobile solution releases.
  • Define testing scope for complex projects. - Participate in product design reviews to ensure system testability and overall quality
  • Design test scripts, test data and execute test cases for complex technical and business solutions.
  • Provide leadership and technical expertise within functional and non-functional Test Automation and Testing
  • Ability to Design, develop, implement, and maintain tools and test frameworks.
  • Work closely with Senior development architects/engineers and test teams to meet the Quality objectives of the solution releases.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, exercise independent judgment, develop innovation proposals, and make recommendations to senior management.
  • Collaborate continuously with the program and product development teams to implement new features/requirements for the CI/CT/CD pipeline.
  • Collaborate with product teams to strategize and align long-term solutions for test automation, including a roadmap, tools, framework, and approach.
  • Recommends new tools, techniques, and methodologies to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Participate in Agile Scrum activities and SAFe Ceremonies (Program Increment Planning, Adapt and Learn, Scrum of Scrums).
  • Ability to effectively mentor and coach teams of senior engineers.
  • Ability to benchmark internal practices with the latest industry practices and generate proposals for continuous improvement.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis abilities.

Qualification, Competencies and Skills:

Bachelors or Master’s degree in computer science / closely related field with 15+ years of experience. Proven software architecture, design, and development experience providing software solutions, deploying, and maintaining applications.

Required Technical Skills/Knowledge

  • Strong work experience in mobile applications automation using Appium on iOS and Android platforms.
  • Expertise in Web / Native App automation using emulators and Simulators.
  • Expertise and hands-on experience in iOS and Android testing Frameworks
  • Expertise in cross-platform testing framework and running automated tests at scale with real devices.
  • Expertise in Mobile Lab Setup with real mobile devices, Simulators and Emulators
  • Expertise with distributed systems and knowledge about microservices architecture patterns.
  • Expertise in modern software tools and approaches (Git, CI/CD, Automated testing).
  • Development experience in a broad range of programming languages (Java/ C#/Python) in Windows and Linux environments
  • Hands-on experience in UI and/or API-level test automation expertise
  • Extensive experience in test frameworks and tools like ROBOT, Selenium, BDD, REST APIs, and Postman
  • Experience defining and executing non-functional test cases. 
  • Extensive experience in Test Management – such as JIRA and ALM

Experience in any of the following is desirable:

  • Kubernetes and container technologies.
  • AWS/Cloud Computing
  • DevOps approaches to modern software delivery
