The Non Functional Requirement, End-to-End platform test, Community and coaches (NEC) is an organization which aims to ensure high quality of our cloud deliverables.
- Ensure the stability of the Cloud Platform thanks to various teams:
○ Disruption Validation:
- Manage Disaster recovery and zonal resiliency testing
- Provide Chaos ecosytem and associated consultancy for platform and application
- Define and provide Quality KPIs
- Operate Internal Platform Test System
○ Performance Validation:
- Provide Performance ecosytem and associated consultancy for platform and application
- Execute Performance campaigns
○ Cloud Platform Validation:
- End to end integration tests of the platform
- Internal Platform Test system sanity regression
- Platform user problem capitalization
○ Incubation
- Incubate devops people with a quality mindset to work for the Cloud teams
○ A set of Principal QA Engineers: to support all the Agile Trains / Teams working on the Cloud Platform by providing
- 360 Quality Guideline (from definition of done to problem management passing by the different level of testing & releasing)
- Test strategies
- Community of practice
- And on top of the above manage QA Office activities of TSI unit.
We are looking for a talented QA Principal Engineer to strengthen the Quality of the Cloud Platform components.
As a principal QA engineer you will:
- Be the entry point for 2 Cloud Platform trains (trains under redesign, aim is to have for each trains a Principal QA Engineer identified). His aim is to:
○ Provide support to the identified trains around Quality topics
○ Collect and manage teams Quality problematic (how to test, where to test, which tools, which processes, which area, …) through dedicated analysis & coaching
○ Increase Quality Maturity of identified trains
○ Each trains being composed of 6-12 teams
- Be part of the platform gatekeeping (global sign-off process of the cloud platform teams)
- Be owner of some of the SAFe Epics linked to problematics / challenges associated to Quality of the program
○ Some example of "past/current" points of attention: Sign-off & Releasing cycle, Integration Testing, Validation of LZ deployment mechanism, Disaster Recovery
○ Example of coming points of attention: AUD Ecosystem, GOB, PaaS, Progressive Rollout, Availability Management
- On top of quality activities for the platform train, NEC organization is also managing the NFR Quality Community. Aim will be to manage this community which is for the global Amadeus Engineering community
Additionally standard Principal QA Accountabilities applies such as:
- Through cross-team guidance, acts as a functional and technical lead responsible for defining and spreading best practices around QA methodology among the organization.
- Conducts technical discussions with internal development partners to understand their designs and intended output.
- Takes a leading role in the technical implementation of the test strategy. He/she has a strong IT & business understanding.

- Proficient in technical knowledge to ensure team performs at a high level. Is recognized as a leader in own area and may formally train Specialists/Senior Specialists.
- Understands how main business drivers may impact on own area. Can assess complex problems with broad impact on the activity, improve processes, recommend solutions and risk mitigation plans. Able to communicate complex information.
- Works with a high level of autonomy, based on management directions. Leads projects or contributes to broad cross-functional projects. May contribute to planning of resources and budget.

- Master QA methodology
- For complex/cross-functional solutions, analyze, write and execute test standards and procedures
- Document, analyze root cause, and recommend corrective actions for defects
- Master QA tools, environments and test automation solutions
- Functional Excellence
- Hold a proficient product domain knowledge incl. relevant business processes & scenarios and a proficient understanding of customer needs
- Lead customer triages/debug sessions and help the team with reproducing the problem in-house.
Drive continuous and sustainable improvement
- Participate in internal / external forums and lead department-wise discussions around QA methodology / framework / tooling evolution
- Strive to maintain very high-quality standards for Amadeus products
- Contribute to patents and technical events in the QA area
- Propose relevant KPI and ways of measuring them efficiently, for both software deliverables and compliance with Amadeus Quality Standards
- Ensure adoption and improvement of testing tools & environments: promote existing ones to avoid duplication, evaluate them and recommend improvements
- Participate to the understanding, measurement and reduction of the environmental impact of the tested applications and associated QA activities
Building relations & Knowledge sharing
- Coach, mentor & train less experienced QA Engineers, Software Development Engineers and Product Definition Analysts on quality assurance skills and professionalization
- Actively participate in the construction, maintenance, and deployment of the on-boarding of new colleagues
- Provide consulting on test automation issues, testing tools, QA processes and functional test coverage
- Attend to Quality and Principal QA Engineer community events
