We are looking to establish a casual Range Officer pool based at the Sydney International Shooting Centre and Southern Highlands Regional Shooting Complex

  • We require a current Firearms Licence
  • Rates start at $34.50 per hour

Our work is spread across NSW, with ten Sport and Recreation Centres, five Olympic Sport Venues and offices throughout the state.

About the role

The Range Officer provides assistance to the Range Supervisor to perform maintenance and preparation of facilities and equipment as well as supervision of ranges in accordance with Range Approvals, Range Rules, pre-approved plans and Safe Operating Procedures. Range Officers ensure the venue, and all operations are maintained at the highest standards including primary duties of organising, conducting and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations. 

The Role is based at the Sydney International Shooting Centre at Cecil Park and/or the Southern Highlands Regional Shooting Complex at Hill Top NSW. Hours are predominantly Wednesday & Friday Nights, Fridays, and weekends.

A bit about you 

  • You have experience handling firearms and supervising a shooting range.
  • You have experience in instructing (not essential but highly desirable).
  • You have an understanding of target sports (not essential but highly desirable).
  • You are aware of safety requirements and can deal with incidents and emergency situations.
  • You enjoy dealing with a variety of customers, are committed to providing high quality customer service and can adapt service delivery to meet customer needs.
  • You enjoy working in a team but can also work autonomously. 

Essential Requirements

  • Current Firearms License endorsed “Target shooting” (Class A, B, or H), and ability to obtain the other.
  • Ability to work weekends and evenings as required
  • Current NSW Class C Drivers Licence
