Job Summary 

Adjunct faculty members facilitate students’ achievement of course objectives and prepare college students to matriculate through the undergraduate program.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

1. Face-to-face, interactive video, or online course delivery and instruction.
2. Prepare and submit syllabi, grades and other required course documentation in a timely manner.
3. Communicate course requirements and expectations to students.
4. Assist students with course material as necessary, potentially outside of class time.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications 

Master’s degree in biological sciences or closely related field from an accredited university. 18 hours of graduate level coursework in biological sciences. Background check clearance. Uphold the mission and values of USM, College of Arts and Sciences, and the School of Biological, Environmental, and Earth Sciences. 

Preferred Qualifications 

Teaching, mentoring and service experience at a university level. Experience with Canvas technology.
