Our finance professionals play an essential role in maintaining a healthy balance sheet at AIG. We deliver significant finance support for the overall enterprise, optimizing operations, funding and capital structure to honor our commitments to our stakeholders. We inform the decisions of AIG executives and comply with regulatory requirements, maintaining financial discipline, transparency and controls, while providing timely and meaningful information.

The Finance function consists of a variety of teams with an array of responsibilities, including: FP&A, Controllership, Tax, Accounting, Operations, Sourcing and Procurement, Data Management, Treasury, Real Estate, Investments, Investor Relations and Corporate Development. Assignments and responsibilities will vary depending on the needs of the business.

About the role

What you need to know:

  • To verify the accounting documents, payment vouchers to settle the payment for suppliers, intercompany, claimant to ensure the relevant documents (invoice, contract, purchase request, …) are complied with local regulation and AIG Group policies.
  • To co-ordinate and follow-up with Claims Department for accurate and timely payment/settlement to/from inter-company.
  • To verify invoices and payment vouchers ensuring that all payments are approved, fully supported, ensuring accuracy of allocation done in Accounting system and fully in charge of AP posting and control checking of AP closing.
  • To perform reconciliation Balance Sheet accounts and attach supporting documents into Blackline for manager to review & certify. Discrepancies are being investigated & resolved.
  • To ensure timely reconciliation of bank statements and provide assistance on monthly Global Bank Exposure Report and Cash and Short term report.
  • Follow fixed assets and perform assets depreciation, disposal … ( Group and local reporting)
  • To prepare daily cash in bank movement, monitor and forecast expenditure funding, work with Treasury team to transfer remaining funds for term deposit
  • To calculate WHT for deduction and perform WHT report to submit to Tax General Department accurately and timely as required by authorities.
  • Monitor incoming or outgoing fund and notify the respective persons in-charge for further action (receipting/payment voucher).
  • To assist in monitoring of accounting month-end closing process for Account payable and General Ledger monthly closing including journal posting, month-end job running and control checking of GL closing.

What we’re looking for:

  • BA Degree in Accounting discipline
  • Good knowledge of English language is mandatory.
  • Minimum 3 years' post-qualification relevant experience, preferably with knowledge of requirements in general insurance or financial services industry, either in private practice or in the corporate field
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and analytical skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
