About the role

The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for procurement of goods and services as well as ensuring cost-effective purchases and consistent delivery of quality goods and services

What you will do

  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives.
  • To secure competitive bids as required and requested.
  • To initiate purchase requisitions as required and ensure the lowest cost consistent foods, beverages, materials, services, equipment, and supplies with required quality standards are procured on a timely basis.
  • To identify local vendors and maintain working relationships with them whiles negotiating rates.
  • Continuously comparison shop and negotiate to make sure FS gets the best possible prices on needed supplies.
  • To verify information on dates and prices of goods.
  • To help the storekeeper and ensure that hotel main stores are organized and all items is available in the stores according to the Min. and Max. Procedures.
  • The ability to coordinate and participate in all month end and quarterly inventories of food, beverage, operating equipment and supplies.
  • The ability to help in coordinating purchases related to capital projects.
  • The ability to help in coordinating the annual operating equipment and supply requirements.
  • To handle all market list items & create the PO’s for the Inventory Items and place the orders with the suppliers .
  • To coordinate & cooperate with the Stores / Receiving regarding the day to day purchasing & receiving activity .

What you bring

  • Prior experience in a 5-star luxury hotel/resort environment in an entry level position is preferred; Fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English Languages.
  • Attention to details.
  • Excellent time management and ability to multi-task and respond to changing priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
