Lead Software Engineer (GG11) – JAVA, Cloud

In this role, you will perform development activities in an agile team, leading on technical solutions, design and writing quality code as well as software testing. This role requires the delivery of good quality software to meet customers' needs. Coaching and mentoring team members alongside leadership skills are important for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Engage with product owners, architects and other specialists in order to understand business requirement, technical requirement.
• Translate business and technical requirements into detailed design specifications for application code and modules.
• Provide design recommendations, developing and integrating programs per written specifications.
• Occasionally responsible for writing moderate to complex design specifications.
• Build and maintain efficient, reusable, reliable and secure code based on User Stories
• Work within a multi-functional agile team and actively participate in Scrum meetings.
• Participate in refinement and planning sessions, you'll work with other colleagues to analyze development requirements, provide design options and complexity estimates, and agree how to deliver the requirements effectively.
• Work closely with team members to set timeframes of the assigned User Stories and details milestones to meet customer and business needs.
• Demonstrating a consistent focus on your good quality of software through the creation and execution of automated tests using Agile/Scrum process
• Coaching/mentoring junior team members.
• Identifies ways to improve the operation of own area and the team and to achieve efficiencies and results.
• Provide technical support to operations or other development teams.
• Doing code review with junior staffs to ensure the good quality of code and drive on test automation.

Required Skills:

• Graduate or post graduate degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or Software Engineering
• Proven experience working in software development or related filed.
• Knowledge of Design Pattern, UML and Object-oriented Programming
• Knowledge of Distributed System Design and Implementation
• Knowledge of Web-based Enterprise Application Development and Web Service on platforms such as Tomcat
• Experienced software engineer with excellent knowledge of Java J2EE and/or Python.
• Experienced in Cloud technology, e.g. AWS, Azure.
• Solid technical background with understanding of programming styles, frameworks, design patterns and unit testing.
• Understanding of security implications and secure coding
• Practical experience with agile development methodologies and tools (Scrum, JIRA etc.)
• Skill for writing clean, readable code and reusable components.
• Experience with Test Driven Development and / or Behavior Driven Development
• Self-motivated, pressure-tolerant, and result-oriented personality
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in English for both spoken and written.
