The Role:

The Minted Merchandising team is responsible for driving sales across our various categories, including art, wedding, holiday, baby & kids and gifts. We work closely with design submissions from our talented community of artists and makers, as well as data from our analytics team, to bring forth fresh, balanced assortments to inspire our customers. Those products are then manufactured by Minted and/or offered through the Direct From Artist (DFA) program, a new third-party marketplace of a curated collection of makers who design and craft fine products in the categories of art and home decor, shipping to Minted customers directly from their studios.

As Merchandising Assistant, you will support the daily operational functions of Minted’s merchandising team. You will learn to develop cross functional with a number of key internal partners (including but not limited to Finance, Business Development, Marketing, Artist Relations, and Merchandising Operations).

You Will:

  • Supports merchant team in assorting process set-up by creating, printing, and boarding submission contact sheets
  • Manages post-assortment file request process
  • Contributes to file audit, production, and sampling process
  • Creates invoices for top prizes, special prizes, and editors picks 
  • Maintains merchandise data, including basic product information, filter assignments, search tags, and related products.
  • Assists with the online merchandising of the relevant categories including filters, SKU organization and ranking, and optimizing the overall “shoppability” of assortments
  • Remains flexible as team priorities shift
  • Builds positive relationships with cross functional partners
  • Consistently provides all relevant and requested information in a timely manner, keeps partners informed and anticipates needs/ questions, as well as risks to timelines
  • Exhibits an understanding of their role in the business and how it relates to teammate’s responsibilities

You Are:

  • A self-starter with an owner’s mindset and an ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment and meet changing deadlines and priorities on multiple simultaneous projects
  • Someone who takes pride in whatever it is that you are doing. You put in the effort required to make sure your work lives up to your own high standards
  • A shopper or collector. You have strong natural retail insights and an understanding of how and why consumers use Minted products, informed by a personal interest in shopping or collecting design or fashion goods. You have a strong personal passion for Minted’s categories of products
  • Passionate about design and how it defines product strategy. Design or retail experience or internship is a plus
  • Results-driven, focused, and analytical. Outstanding follow-up, organization, and time management skills
  • Excited to work in a collaborative team environment and are motivated to ask questions

You Have:

  • Proficient skills in Google Sheets and/or Excel
  • A love for design; however this is not a design role 
  • A rudimentary understanding of financial retail measurements and how to impact them.
  • A curiosity about and passion for Minted’s crowdsourcing model and how it differs from traditional retail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • An ability to multitask, organize and problem solve to meet deadlines 
  • An attention to details that results in flawless execution
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude
  • Ability to find work; offer to help teammates during down time or crunch time
  • A positive attitude and an excitement to form positive cross functional relationships
  • Curiosity, asks questions, probes for clarity and understanding
