As Applications Software Lead on a new product team at Boston Dynamics, you will create the software which our customers will interact and integrate with. You will provide technical leadership to a team in areas spanning from UIs to APIs to HRIs. To thrive in this role, you’ll need to be empathetic to customer needs, technically mature, fast at delivery, and collaborate well with a dynamic, multidisciplinary team.

Day-to-Day Activities will include:
- Design and document a cohesive application software architecture spanning from devices to cloud services to UIs.
- Get your hands dirty - implement key components, debug issues, and prototype new approaches.
- Keep the team moving effectively by removing roadblocks, providing concrete milestones, and simplifying or reducing requirements.
- Mentor teammates via code review, design review, and setting an example of senior engineers.
- Collaborate with teammates - other engineers, product, and operations - to understand key pain points and develop possible solutions.
Desired Experience:
- Shipped end-user products through the full software life cycle - from concept to maintenance. Ideal candidates would have done this in a team lead role.
- Expert at frontend web development, preferably for real-time and/or 3D experiences. Experience with mobile, AR/VR, or video games also is ideal.
- Technical knowledge of backend technologies, such as Cloud, APIs, and processing pipelines.
- Demonstrated collaboration with Product, UX, and end-customers.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience developing professional quality software.
