Summary:

The Quantitative Analyst will have two main areas of focus. The first area is portfolio management, specifically, conducting and supporting research efforts on portfolio construction, and thought leadership in the field of asset allocation. The second area of focus relates to production duties for the multi-asset strategies team. This will include ongoing reporting in support of the funds, such as performance and risk attribution, portfolio rebalancing, and running tactical models.

This position requires both a basic understanding of economics and financial market theory (acquired through academic training and/or investment-related experience), and an ability to apply this knowledge to new and moderately complex problems. Given the ever-shifting nature of the field, the analyst must be adaptable, innovative, and have an entrepreneurial mentality. Also, this position requires a strong interest in understanding portfolio management practices and ways in which these practices can be improved. Lastly, familiarity with programming, e.g., with Matlab, R or Python and with application software used by the group, e.g., FactSet, Bloomberg, Barra is preferred.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assist in directed research to support a variety of asset allocation topics. Areas include analysis of various asset types, portfolio construction, estimation of various analytics and metrics, and how firm’s asset allocation products address specific clients’ financial needs.
  • Maintain, construct, and support portfolio monitoring tools for performance attribution and risk Maintain, enhance, and support the suite of tactical allocation models
  • Support and improve quantitative processes for portfolios that rebalance periodically
  • Act as liaison with IT and Accounting departments for ongoing infrastructure projects
  • Review industry publications for emerging themes in the asset allocation field. Publications range from Wall St sell-side commentary to academic journals.

Education and Experience:

BS/BA degree in finance, accounting, economics, math, or science along with 2 plus years quality investment experience is required. An advanced degree is strongly preferred, but not required. A background in statistics would be a plus.

Skills Required - Understanding of Excel spreadsheets and relevant software. The job will require knowledge of Bloomberg API's, Factset, and a wide variety of other software and data providers.

Candidate must be very detail oriented, and sensitive to working with deadlines.

Programming in an analytical package (Matlab, R or Python) and SQL languages preferred.

The salary range for this position is $135,000.00 - $155,000.00 depending on qualifications and work location. This position is eligible for cash incentive providing the potential to earn more.

Additional Requirements: Employees are required to be in the office on a scheduled frequency. Adherence to this schedule is essential to fulfilling the expectations of the role.
