Red Hat is looking for a Senior Systems Administrator to join our Data Center Services team in Ra’anana, Israel. In this role, you will focus on the integration and maintenance of prototype and production hardware systems into the test infrastructure for the Red Hat Engineering Development team. The systems and services managed by Products & Global Engineering are spread across multiple locations globally. As a Senior Systems Administrator, you will provide technical leadership for Red Hat's Engineering Lab team, identify areas to improve, manage projects, and mentor junior administrators. You'll help develop, deploy, and support lab infrastructure that allows our Engineering team to produce world class open source software. To succeed in this role, you’ll need to have experience managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems, outstanding troubleshooting skills, and have worked with a wide variety of hardware and software platforms. What you will do

  • Architect development labs 
  • Coordinate with management on projects and lab expansions
  • Provide technical leadership, training, and mentorship of junior associates
  • Providing consultation service on hardware specifications
  • Integrate hardware into test infrastructure and maintain it
  • Serve as the final escalation point of contact for areas and topics of your expertise 
  • Screen and interview potential interns and junior lab administrators
  • Negotiate and purchase hardware
  • Develop hardware and labs documentation for protocols and standards 

What you will bring

  • 4+ years of Linux or UNIX system admin experience, including installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance; 
  • Broad knowledge of networking e.g., LAN, fiber channel, Infiniband, and storage, e.g., FC, iSCSI, NFS, object storage
  • Experience with Data Center infrastructure and technologies (such as AC, PDU, UPS, structured cabling management, airflow management). 
  • Experience with networking technology and networking infrastructure services and protocols, e.g., DNS, DHCP, LDAP, Kerberos, NIS, PXE
  • Experience with configuration management tools like CFEngine, Puppet, GIT and or Ansible
  • Judgment and negotiation skills, along with the ability to find successful resolutions for complex issues

The following is considered a plus:

  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) is a plus
  • Storage solutions experience; Hardware level (Dell EMC, HPe Storage, NetApp) is a plus
  • Close familiarity with SAN best practices
  • End-to-end experience with storage stack
  • Experience configuring Ethernet, storage switching, Brocade's Fibre Channel, FabricOS and JunOS experience. Cisco iOS is a plus
  • Experience using RPM and yum for software deployment; Experience with building binaries is a plus
  • Experience providing asset management information to management groups in decision-making processes
