In the Observability area, we are building solutions that enable data-driven decision-making and support the development of observable systems. Observability Engineering focuses on building systems that help to: 

  • Swiftly and confidently ship new code. 
  • Identify outliers and aberrant behaviours. 
  • Understand user behaviour. 
  • Understand cost drivers during development and operation. 

We are seeking an Engineering Manager located in Kyiv to lead two teams within Observability and Telemetry. As an engineering manager, you will report to the Director of Engineering

What you will be responsible for:

  • You will be the leader of 2 teams of Software Engineers, responsible for hiring, growing, and upskilling your team through 1:1s, feedback, mentoring, coaching, and goal setting. 
  • You will collaborate with the Product Owner to ensure that features are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
  • You will identify and mitigate risks related to features and teams, addressing any problems that arise quickly and effectively. 
  • You will promote agile ways of working, facilitate agile team processes, and help remove impediments that block the team’s work. 
  • You will work with stakeholders across the organization to align the team’s work with the overall business strategy. 
  • You will collaborate with other managers, tech leads, Product Owners, and teams across the organization to ensure that the team’s work is integrated with other business functions and contributes to the overall success of the company. 
  • You will understand and define relevant engineering KPIs to gain insight into your team’s performance and to help drive improvement, for example in product quality, security, delivery, system performance etc. 
  • You will stay up to date with the latest developments in engineering and technology, and advise the organization on new tools, techniques, and strategies that can improve engineering processes and outcomes.

  • Working knowledge of Telemetry in production environments would be nice. 
  • Experience in or interest in Observability Engineering. 
  • Experience with working as a scrum master in an agile way and a continuous improvement mindset. 
  • You have a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or similar. 
  • Experience working in an international setting with people from many different cultures. 
  • Positive and constructive approach, you bring a smile and positive vibes. 
  • You care about your team and care about having a positive working environment. 
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English (speaking and writing).
