As a Development & Validation Test Technician, you will plan, set up, and execute complex, non-routine development, functional, and performance tests of Compact & Large Tractor vehicles & related sub-systems. The role will conduct specialized tasks to support activities for new product development which will ensure that CNH Industrial products meet customers' needs.

  • Execute full vehicle tests on engine, cooling, air intake, exhaust, and HVAC systems in a test cell environment. Examples of tests include limiting ambient temperature, power check, engine performance, air conditioning performance, cold start, and DEF defreeze.
  • Operate test vehicles/equipment for test purposes as required.
  • Select, calibrate, and install the correct instrumentation (load cells, pressure transducers, thermocouples, flowmeters, etc.) while ensuring all information required will be covered and there is integrity in the data. Prepare the data acquisition equipment.
  • Evaluate machine performance, diagnose component and system malfunctions, isolate problems, and recommend improvements.
  • Collect and analyze data. Identify trends or issues and gauge performance. Confirm whether the systems under test meet internal specifications, external legal/safety requirements, and our customers’ expectations.
  • Working with the test engineer, document results by crafting effective and formal technical reports that include conclusions & recommendations based from test data. Document non-conformance via Product Integrity Reports (PIR).
  • Benchmark competitive equipment, confirming our product lines place us in a “best in class” position. Identify areas of improvement and quantify the gaps.
  • Perform other tests activities unrelated to Engine Installation/HVAC as required.
  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree or Technical certification in a Technical or Agricultural discipline or similar.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ total relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with LabView, DEWESoft, INCA, or CANalyzer.
  • Agricultural background and/or passion for off-road equipment. Knowledge of tractor systems (and/or other off-road equipment) and operation. Hands-on experience repairing and maintaining on/off-road vehicles or other equipment.
  • Knowledge of tractor/diesel engine systems.
  • Experience selecting, calibrating, and utilizing test equipment/instrumentation (thermocouples, pressure transducers, flowmeters, etc.) and data acquisition tools (DEWESoft, INCA, CANalyzer).
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment as well as be self-motivated to work independently with little supervision while managing multiple tasks and projects.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced data-driven environment. Excellent critical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  • Demonstrated root-cause identification and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical engineering documents and drawings.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
