The Treasury Services Pricing Director is responsible for protection and growth of the business’s existing fee-based revenue as well as optimization of margins on newly-acquired business. In this capacity, you will manage a portfolio of ~$1B in annual revenue through centralized reprice strategy and oversee pricing on ~$100MM of revenue being actively negotiated by our Sales teams with global clients each year. You will be accountable to the J.P. Morgan Payments CFO in addition the business’s Global Sales Heads and Product Leads. The roles comes with direct and material influence of the business’s overall profitability and is critical to the success of J.P. Morgan Payments.

As an Executive Pricing Director within the Transformation & Strategy team you will lead teams responsible for pricing new Treasury Services deals, developing and executing back-book reprice strategies, and deploying pricing enhancements such as benchmarks, standard list prices, and pricing governance guardrails across our fee-based products. You will manage a varying scope, ranging from hands-on deal development with Sales to Pricing Tool development, testing, and deployment with our Technology partners. You will also oversee and manage scope expansion of the team, building organizational pricing muscle across EMEA, APAC, and LATAM in addition to more direct management of North America. Through these responsibilities, you will partner closely with J.P. Morgan Payments’ executives across Sales, Product, Finance, Technology, Operations, and Controls. You will exhibit oversight of governance, controls, risk, and compliance in addition to the management of Treasury Services profitability.

Job responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Vice Presidents and Associates assigned to price our largest Treasury Services deals with Sales, including pricing advisory, Product approval, and deal presentation to Senior Payments Leaders
  • Manage a team responsible for facilitating an annual Treasury Services fee-based Price Event, including pricing strategy, Sales Tool maintenance, and post-event pricing and billing validation
  • Promote and develop overall pricing hygiene and guidance for Sales, including the refinement of benchmarks, development of “Standard Price Lists” with Product, and oversight of the governance process the business uses to approve deal pricing and special pricing terms
  • Promote and develop innovative pricing schemes, including dynamic volume or activity-based price tiering, bundling, and/or deal incentives that may span across other areas of the business
  • Manage a team dedicated to the support of Treasury Services pricing tools used by Sales for deal pricing and reprice management
  • Detect and address real or potential revenue leakage, through billing errors or sub-optimal pricing schemes that could leave “money on the table”

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

  • 15+ years’ in direct management of Treasury Services businesses or functions, either with a Treasury Service provider such as J.P. Morgan Payments or as an end-user of such services, e.g., senior experience in a Corporate Treasury or Payments department
  • Degree in finance and/ or accounting
  • Experience leading broad teams in collaboration with Sales, Product, and functional corporate partners such as Legal and Compliance
  • Experience managing teams of 10+ employees, including management of day-to-day work product and the fostering of general career development
  • Strong command of the payments industry/ Treasury Services
  • Strong financial, mathematical, and statistical experience and acumen

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

  • Proven experience in team management 
  • Strong skillset in financial analysis; understanding of pricing techniques
  • Ability to apply financial forensic techniques
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work across businesses and support functions to ensure alignment of deal-based revenue generation goals
  • Ability to work well with deadlines, including the unexpected
  • Executive presence and presentation skills
  • MBA, CPA, CFA destination
  • Experience with Merchant Acquiring, Commercial Card products
