Department Overview

The Commercial Capital group in India and Philippines is part of the Commercial Capital Business group in the Bank. The teams in this group manage commercial lending front office related roles such as origination and documentation support, financial spreading, collateral management, portfolio management, periodic borrower credit assessment and underwriting. The Corporate Trust business of the Bank is also supported by this team. In addition, the team takes care of business reporting, technical writing and procedure publishing activities and provides business analyst support to key applications used in the Commercial Capital group.

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Commercial Banking Portfolio Associate. This role is responsible for credit portfolio management to meet the long-term financial objectives and risk tolerance for commercial banking clients. Serves as a key member of a client’s deal team.

In this role, you will:

  • Research complex financial and credit information for commercial business, or high net worth customer loan packages, according to business unit standards within Commercial Banking Portfolio Management functional area
  • Review basic issues, policies, or procedures for which answers can be quickly obtained, related to low to medium risk tasks and deliverables
  • Underwrite loans with aggregate credit exposure based upon approved credit authority limits
  • Investigate credit standards and determine credit worthiness of high net worth loans
  • Receive direction from supervisor and exercise independent judgement while developing understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and consult with managers, functional colleagues, and stakeholders including internal as well as external customers

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in Commercial Banking Portfolio Management, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Financial services background; Wholesale Commercial Capital background; Experience in credit analysis and commercial underwriting
  • Strong knowledge on accounting and finance, Industry analysis, Internal and external risk factors of the borrower
  • Should have an experience in assessing credit worthiness of the borrowers based on qualitative and quantitative factors
  • Sound knowledge of ratio analysis, cash flow, and trend analysis
  • Sound knowledge on Moody's Risk Analytics (MRA) (added advantage) 
  • Strong knowledge on GAAP Accounting / International Financial Reporting Standards
  • Ability to read & analyze financial statements. 
  • Strong analytical skills.

Job Expectations:

  • Work hours to be observed is between 5pm - 2am Monday to Friday onsite
