JR51123 TD-Compact Model Validation/Software Engineer

A compact model is a brief, yet physically accurate description of the tiny workhorses of modern chips – the transistors and other unit devices. As a part of compact model validation group, ensuring that the physical underpinning of these models is correctly captured and applied to complex memory designs requires creation of innovative algorithms and frameworks. Creating such advanced tools and frameworks to validate the compact models in Micron’s next generation DRAM and NAND technologies will be your prime responsibility. You will be covering a breadth of topics to ensure that compact models are bridging the process capabilities and the various circuit topologies. In doing so, you will need to interact actively with the process teams, TCAD, characterization and design teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop software tools for spice model development and its validation.
  • Coordinate with the Compact modeling engineers to understand the spice model development workflow and requirements from the software tools.
  • Explore the use of AI/ML for automation tool development.
  • Communicate with CAD teams for deployments of software in prod.
  • Verify the software for functionality.
  • Document details of coding to enable maintenance of software.

Job qualifications and skills:

1. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering or related field. A relevant experience of three years or more in CAD tool development.

2. Excellence in using python for full stack development, object-oriented programming (oop) and proficiency in using C++. 

3. Experience is working in a cross functional environment.

4. Strong command on Linux/Unix.

5. Fluency in English Language - written and verbal.
