Are you an experienced project manager with good knowledge of the wind turbine industry? Do you have great interpersonal skills and can you guide and encourage a team of committed project team members? Then you might be the Senior Project Manager we are looking for at Vestas.

Construction Offshore APAC > Project Management

You will be part of our Project Management in Offshore Construction which comprises a team of highly motivated colleagues, responsible for project execution including installation and commissioning of offshore wind turbines in the Asia Pacific region.

In addition to project execution, our team also supports the rest of the Vestas' value chain with our knowledge of construction projects. Therefore, you will have great opportunities to spar with other parts within Construction, and many of your tasks will also require cross-organisational collaboration.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the projects in your portfolio, ensuring that they are delivered on time, to budget and to the required safety and quality standards. You will ensure that the projects are efficiently resourced and effectively handle relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and back office. You will guide and encourage members of the project team to develop their skills and competencies. You will effectively ensure that learning points from projects are communicated toother projects and thereby contribute to profitable and fruitful knowledge-sharing.

As Senior Project Manager, you should be able to handle projects with added complexities, e.g. introduction of a new turbine, new market, inexperienced team, added scope.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Day-to-day communication and alignment with the customer;
  • Encouraging the project team and others in continuous improvements;
  • Implementing and adhering to Vestas' management systems;
  • Ensuring effective project planning and control;
  • Continuous monitoring of project progress, budget and performance;
  • Handling the work of sub-contractors, allocating and utilising resources in an efficient manner and maintaining a cooperative and ideal project team;
  • Performing risk management to minimise project risks;
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation and ensuring that all reporting requirements are met on time and to the required quality.

Qualifications

  • Relevant education (e.g. Engineering or Contractual background, Project Manager education or similar);
  • Knowledge about the Stage Gate model;* Product understanding and awareness;
  • 5-8 years experience from similar industry and from large scale projects preferred;
  • Risk Management competences;
  • Commercial insight;
  • Contractual as well as technical understanding;
  • Awareness of cultural diversity.

  • You should be good at encouraging, developing and guiding your project team;* You should be someone who works in a pragmatical, structured and thorough manner, with high personal motivation and engagement;
  • Have an ability to be outgoing at times, with the ability to build effective relationships with various stakeholders;
  • Should be committed, capable of prioritizing workloads and thrive well in a creative project environment.
