We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Applied Researcher -- Tech Lead to join our dynamic Generative AI team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Large Language Models (LLMs), and Machine Learning. You will be responsible for leading and expanding a talented team of applied researchers and engineers with diverse skills to advance new capabilities and product experiences. The successful candidate will have experience in setting success metrics for cutting-edge research and innovation, ensuring their continuous integration into products while fostering team growth. This role requires a solid technical foundation, hands-on experience, people management skills, deep collaboration, and communication abilities, and the drive to deliver these innovations to our customers in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Linguistics, or a closely related field. A Ph.D. is preferred, but a Master's degree combined with significant research experience will be considered.
• Solid understanding of machine learning and NLP algorithms, neural model architecture, LLMs, training techniques, and building performant inference pipelines to tackle complex problems.
• Previous experience hiring, coaching and developing world-class researchers and engineers, guiding them in their development
• Tight-knit collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work optimally in a multidisciplinary team and influence outcomes.
• Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
• 4+ years of experience mentoring and managing applied researchers in teams delivering product capabilities
• Track record shipping NLP products
• Experience in ecommerce is a strong plus
